Washington primaries next month, switching from Cruz to Trump.

One of the nice things about being in a late vote state is the candidates least worthy of office have usually dropped out by May, so my vote is not thrown away.

From the get go I have been a Cruz supporter, and Trump was my second choice. I still do belive that Cruz is a better representative of conservative values, however the reality is he cannot get the required delegates by the end of the primaries to avoid a brokered convention where the GOPee can shoehorn a Jeb or Romney into the general election and completely circumvent the entire election process of "by the people, for the people".

For the security and sanctity of our Republic (if it can be called that now) my vote will be cast for Trump. He may not be my preferred candidate, but at least I will not be holding my nose as I fill out my ballot as we all had to do with McCain and Romney.

The current climate in our country is stormy with a 99% chance of precious snowflakes melting down. The more anger towards Trump I see in the media, youth, LGBTQFBZRMHQXV (or whatever it is today), feminists, safe spaces, trigger warnings, occupiers, Sanders and Hitlary supports. I don't see anger in those groups, I see fear in their eyes, fear that all of the things they want for free or unpunished will be taken from them and they will have to put down the bong and become an adult.

That is motivation enough to proudly vote for Trump.

I do have a question for the Trumpers though. When Trump references the Mexican Wall, do you see it as a physical structure, a metaphor, or both?

My opinion, as a veteran, I understand the tactical advantage of a secure perimeter, a wall or fence would be nice, but it would not end the problem of illegal immigration. I have to revert to what CPO Gallera told me in boot camp, "P-Chuck, you better not get into trouble, or the Navy will take your pay". Those words have stuck with me and they can be applied to many aspects in life. So when he talks about a wall it is both a physical barrier and a metaphor for me. If Trump wants to be serious about illegal immigration then the problem is as simple as "take their pay" by enforcing and expanding current immigration laws. If a mandatory minimum fine of 1 million dollars per illegal immigrant a business employs, businesses will do extensive background checks on applicants rather than risk the fine and would reduce the incentive to come here illegally since nobody will hire them. Thats just my opinion, agree or disagree.

Anyways, now comes the hard part, convincing my Roosevelt Democrat parents that Trump is the sane and Logical vote this presidential election. Wish me luck lol.

We need to fix and enforce a sane immigration policy. Full enforcement of E-Verify, cutting off all state support for illegal aliens would have a greater impact than the tallest wall.

Your post points to the problem. We need a non political solution. The wall is that non political solution and works 7x24x365.

I did not say that a wall would not be useful but remember that 40% of illegals came to the country legally and simply did not depart. A wall will not help with these people, only deterrence stacked upon deterrence.

I want that wall. I like the nonPC aspect of it.
