I’m a bid I.D. fan and cops search garbage cans all the time, looking for D.N.A. or other evidence as long as it is sitting out on the street side to be collected, it’s no longer private property.

as long as it is sitting out on the street side to be collected, its no longer private property. My can sits on the edge of my property, not in the street. If it's on my property, it's on private property, and they're trespassing.
