We’re a small conspiracy group, men who want more women in politics. Palin etc.

I think he wants someone who knows the ropes in Congress so he can get things done.

Trump really thinks he's going to get things done? In this Congress? Really?

This is going to sound weird... but Jeb Bush could be the right choice.

Why?

Jeb’s honorable - if he accepted the role of VP he would work for and with Trump on Trump’s agenda.

His ‘low energy’ would go away when his depression lifted - besides the VP slot is NOT for high energy people.

Jeb knows how to work with the GOPe (duh) - and this choice would unite the party. In one move this totally defangs the GOPe.

He’s qualified to be President.

He’s great on ‘details’... Trump’s ‘big picture’ - Jeb’s ‘little picture - done perfectly’...

He’s loyal - would not be working against Trump behind his back...

AND best - Jeb’s ideas would be put on the back burner while he was assisting with the Trump Administration.

That said, Newt would be more fun... and Newt has an interesting historical slant... Also Trump might enjoy Newt more... it’s a toss up.

Well that sure would take the wind out of the sails of all of the GOPe opposition wouldn’t it?

Jeb is an interesting thought.

If Yeb was a heartbeat away from the presidency, Trump’s life wouldn’t be worth a plug nickel. The GOPe/worldist elitists would find a way to get rid of him.

Would love to see her as VP, but as you say, even if she's not picked for that there's plenty she could do. I like the dismantling czar idea. We have a deep bench. I hope a lot of these good people step up to the plate and start to restore America.

He isn’t running to just sit in the oval office.

If anyone can get anything done it’s Trump.

You have a point - - but here’s the problem: there isn’t anyone Trump could pick the GOPe wouldn’t prefer.

If they would knock off Trump to get Yeb in they would knock off anyone else he would pick.

Maybe we need to drive the GOPe out of the party...rather than attempt to unify with them.

Translation: Look! Look! We can play the gender and race card too!

Given the makeup and the tenor in Congress then how?

Endorsing Rubio

She may as well have endorse Jeb. Like Rubio, she's a GOP establishment hack in Tea Party clothing.

I think the “low energy” Jeb Bush is a fictional label that Trump threw on the wall and it stuck. Was he really governor of Fla and had low energy? I can’t imagine. But they would have different strengths and different personalities, so balanced ticket.

I didn’t know much about the NM gov, so I started this thread. Some excellent negative comments and a couple of positive one.

I have no problem playing the race card or the gender card with a VP who has been a good governor, if she is that. We call that pandering, but Cain and Palin and some others were obviously not pandering.

I’m more of a practical person than an ideologue and sometimes to win and defeat the evil open, you can beat them with strategy without selling your soul.

PS:I think there is a bit of Bush burn-out now and hopefully, that also goes for Clinton.

One thing that generally works is going to the American people...when these elected officials get the idea they might be primaried they get more interested in making a deal.

Even Kasich would be a better choice than Jeb if we base the choice on the reasons you give (wouldn’t overshadow Trump with his own agenda, knows how to work with the party establishment and with Congress). Kasich may be a walking punchline, but he isn’t loathed by the anti-establishment Republican voters like Jeb is. Furthermore, I don’t think I could stomach another election with both a Bush and a Clinton on a ticket again, and I’m sure that millions of Americans feel the same way.

Good points. A few months back I was saying I'd leave the party before I'd vote for Jeb... I understand. Maybe this idea needs to be re-thought...Thanks hornbeck and morphing libertarian ...

If I had the time, I’d start a thread on other candidates 1 thread each to vert in similar ways. I think sen sessions can have some negatives, even though he’s a strong conservative, will he help the ticket our not?
