In June 1966, John Wayne stopped by to visit Special Forces Operational Detachment A-323 at Camp Trai Bi, Vietnam when he was in country gathering details for his upcoming movie "The Green Berets."
He had a beer with us and visited for a while before he departed. He was one of us.
