Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Thursday won endorsements from two more U.S. Congress members as he battled to be his party's nominee.
Of the 300 Republicans in Congress - 246 in the House of Representatives and 54 in the Senate - Trump now had the explicit support of 11 with the newly announced public backing by Representatives Jeff Miller of Florida and Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania.
Trump, a billionaire businessman, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Ohio Governor John Kasich were vying for the nomination to represent the Republican Party in the Nov. 8 general election.
"Donald Trump is the only person who has what it takes to shake up the status quo and entrenched bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.," Miller said in a statement.
Miller, who will retire from the Republican-controlled Congress at year's end, capping 16 years in the House, has chaired the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
Shuster, also in his 16th year in the House, has chaired a powerful transportation committee.
Trump backers in Congress have argued that many more lawmakers privately expressed support for Trump, but still have to run in primaries and so have publicly remained neutral.
Representative Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, who endorsed Trump this month, said in an interview that the Trump campaign was cranking up its outreach to Congress.
Cruz, a small-government Tea Party favorite, has snared more endorsements from Congress members.
The most prominent U.S. Republican lawmakers to publicly endorse Trump was Senator Jeff Sessions, who has been advising the campaign on foreign policy.
The others were U.S. Representatives Chris Collins, Duncan Hunter, Tom Marino, Tom Reed, Scott DesJarlais, Lou Barletta and Renee Ellmers.

GO TRUMP!!
PING
Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania is GOPe. Won his seat due to his dad having it before him.
So, does this make Trump GOPe? It did for Cruz when he garnered similar endorsements. And, if not, why?
Sounds like at least part of the GOP wants reform. That’s great news when it comes time to push through those reforms.
Is he for open borders and screwing the American public?
Sweeeet!!!
For Trump endorsements...keyword....trumpendorsement

I would be really surprised if he didn’t vote lockstep with the GOPe. If that means “open borders” and “screwing the American public”, then yes.
Trump didn't solicit their support, but why should he refuse it, especially if he needs them to get his agenda thru Congress?
I’m just looking for consistency, not cognitive dissonance.
.. To add to that statement, which is totally true, They know that Trump isn’t a politician. He’s a business man. And you make friends in business in a different manner than you do in politics.
I think Congress as a whole is not only ‘seeing the light’ to him and his policy, they know that their days are numbered. And without a Trump endorsement in the next elections, they are pretty much toast.
Whether Trump wins or loses. And I also think “they see the writing on the wall” that Trump has a very, very good chance of being president.
The Veterans Affairs committee has much to answer for. ALL of Congress does as well as the Executive.
Why are you looking for consistency? Trump is not an ideologue. Cruz is. Two different standards.
So if everyone is against him and blocks ANYTHING he does, what actually can he accomplish?
Trump has peaked......Jeb is surging.....
Im just looking for consistency,

Don’t be disappointed if you don’t find it. People flip/flop
as a part of their human behavior. jmo
The closer we get to the point of Trump becoming not only the nominee but the president, there will be many more signing on to endorse him.
Some will be ‘cavers’ to protect their money flow and reelection chances (highest probability) and others who genuinely share his vision of reforming our country to be great again.
Of course, we may never know the difference because the cavers are very adept at reinventing themselves through the gift of ‘elegant’ speeches until the public forgets what they were before.
Conservatism is an ideology. In theory, all worthy candidates should have a conservative view.
It is not flip/flopping that bothers me. It is the: if my candidate does it, it is ok, but if your candidate does it, he’s the devil incarnate.
WOOHOO!!! GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
