A vermin infestation has overrun the kitchen of a suburban Chicago Veterans Affairs hospital and is reportedly so severe that cockroaches routinely crawl across countertops as cooks prepare meals. The insects have even found their way into patients’ food, employees say. The bug invasion has attracted the attention of a U.S. senator who is demanding to know how the VA is fixing the problem. It’s just the latest scandal at an agency rocked by allegations of abuse, incompetence and the needless deaths of veterans who wait years for medical appointments.

Yep. otherwise the Commierats and Redumblicans will use the VA as the model for the forthcoming Single Payer system.
Many of the VA employees are ghouls...soulless, unpatriotic ghouls.

And they hate vets!
I would like to take the whole VA budget, divide by the number of disabled veterans, and use that to give vets a good health insurance plan in the private sector, and fire the whole VA hierarchy.
Get rid of VA hospitals.
Let out veterans use the hospitals of their choice.
Just like Obama voters can.
That’s great for your friend. I too have been there many times and can state that the service I witnessed was awful.
I happened to be there one afternoon when a vet killed himself in the parking lot. I called every news agency while standing there and not a single one bothered to report the incident.
I’ve seen WWII vets treated like crap. Too many incidents to count or report. I detest Hines, the DMV of healthcare.
Think it would work in D.C. as well?

THIS IS HOW THE STINKING DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AND THE STINKING CONGRESS AND THE PUKING STINKING OBAMA ADMINISTRATION PROVIDE FOR THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO KEPT THIS NATION FREE SO THOSE SLOBS COULD MILK THE SYSTEM AND MAKE THEMSELVES RICH. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ONE OF THESE SLOBS BE TREATED IN THIS FACILITY. This is just like Phoenix where all those people died. This is our thank you for all the service years. This is what people get for giving their bodies to defense of the nation. First we are described as domestic terrorists and now they will just kill us off at the VA. They took away everything they promised we would have for our service. Now they are killing us one by one. Either by non treatment or by giving them tainted foods that make them sicker and they die that way. The US Government needs to be razed to the ground and a complete do over. This nation was started because we got tired of the King. Now we have a new kingdom. A kingdom of Sodom on the Potomac. Run by the king and his men. And all the surfs out there in never never land. The surfs getting free stuff don’t give a tinkers damn. Everyone else has cross hairs (+) on their backs. Welcome to the former US States of America. We are now the United Socialist People’s Republic.
I really like your idea; and I was wondering if maybe Dr. Carson would be a good fit for helping the VA establish a new set of “standards of care”.
