No fan of Snarly Carly, but it's not like Republicans have much of a chance in California these days. With the new "jungle primary" system, a bunch of the November races are between 2 Democrats these days. That's why Sandy Fluke lost.
I have no idea what will happen in November in California.
However, Trump voters in the Rep. Primary will stomp Snarly and her buddy Scruz!
But I read on FR (long since forgotten the poster) that Cubanadian Ted was “wildly popular” in California....
Trump’s actual position on transgender is awaiting clarification. He said, “leave it like it is”. Many say that meant leave the current law and the current situation like it is now. I’m waiting for it to be clarified. Like it is in Ohio means men can’t enter female restrooms. He also says, “it’s up to the states”. IOW, each state gets to make their own laws on this.
I do agree that we don’t need a federal law on the issue. It’s not the fed’s business. In terms of the states, I think we should attempt to ‘leave it as it is’ UNTIL the opposition tries to force something down our throats. Then we should bypass legislatures and governors and put issues on the ballots. This one belongs to the people and not to the state government.
Beyond that, wise builders will start using private, one person toilets. Solves the problem immediately.
Actually, what Trump said was that he supports women being in combat roles. I’ve got 24+ years in the military and am an Army retiree.
I support women in combat roles....it just depends on the role.
Lots of different Fire Support roles from MLRS to Combat aviation to ADA to medical are just fine. Service support definitely. So, the issue is really infantry, armor, artillery, specops...those roles that are exposed to potential for close quarters contact with the enemy.
But, a woman on the controls of an attack drone...no problem. If she is the best, then she should be pulling that trigger. I want them killing the enemy and not having the enemy kill us.
That is probably a reality. Ted is getting ready to run in 8 years after two Trump terms.

Trump has won. Cruz’s only path is to start a party war that will destroy Clinton’s opposition before the fall campaign even begins. If I were her, I’d be donating to Cruz’s campaign.
So, given that Trump has won, it is on us to help him with BOTH his strengths and his weaknesses.
We will hold his feet to the fire if he goes off the reservation on any of the social issues dear to us. We got GWBush to back off of amnesty because we united and fought like there was no tomorrow.
We’ll do the same with social engineering.
But we KNOW that Clinton will be far worse. I’m positive of it.
Like so many wildly popular and soaring stuff, reality is the opposite!
It is an energizing message in the morning and throughout our day.
Then it is a peaceful one to read before bedtime.
