After being mathematically eliminated from reaching 1,237 delegates, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% responded by appointing former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate.
The appointment, however, could have unintended consequences given Fiorinas pivotal role in developing the controversial offshoring model favored by tech companies today.
In particular, Fiorinas record could shine unwanted attention on what has been a similarly uncomfortable area for Sen. Ted Cruz, such as Cruzs offering an amendment to increase the H-1B program by 500 percent, his 2015 vote to continue allowing Chinese currency manipulation, and his 2015 vote to fast track President Obamas Trans-Pacific Partnership agreementall votes which have been highlighted by the Trump campaign in recent months.
During her time at Hewlett Packard, Fiorina sparked fury when she declared that There is no job that is Americas God-given right anymore suggesting that American workers should be forced to compete with all of the worlds workers. Throughout her career as a high-powered businesswoman, Fiorina was an aggressive proponent of offshoring U.S. jobs, which she called right-shoring. As Forbes reported in 2002, with the blessing of Chief Executive Carly Fiorina, HP sought to move everything it could offshore.
Kim Berry, a former HP employee and registered Republican from California, described the Cruz-Fiorina ticket as a good match.
Theyre two peas in a pod that support TPP [the Trans-Pacific Partnership] and support the corporate agenda, Berry said.
Berry who is currently the President of the Programmers Guild, which advocates for the interests of U.S. tech workers and computer programmers said that he views Cruz/Fiorina as the globalist ticket for anyone supporting TPP and these one-way trade agreements that take down all of our trade barriers.

Vote for my VP: she pi**ed off anyone who ever worked for HP including its founding family.
He is either the dumbest man around... or he is trying to lose. I cant decide which.
You just look at the negatives of VP Fiorina, and there’s virtually a no-situation to vote for Cruz-Fiorina.
I’d be curious who in his campaign staff came up with this idea.
..He is either the dumbest man around... or he is trying to lose. I cant decide which....
“Captain, Captain, there’s an iceberg dead ahead.”
I’m waiting for Cruz to read his Inaugural Address, and name his entire cabinet after he’s crushed in Indiana.
The VP move just shows how delusional and divorced from the reality around him that he has become. Cruz may have to check into some sort of psychiatric clinic once his campaign totally collapses. There, he can spend his days leafing thru his scrapbooks, and hold cabinet meetings with his stuff animals.
Maybe this will wake up the Cruz supporters on this site.
First the Kasich linkup fiasco and now this. Ted didn’t call the shots on either one of these gems of stupidity, but this is what you get for being someone else’s puppet. The establishment handlers of Ted are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now, but the game is over. Trump is the GOP nominee for president.
All those that defended Cruz’s “change of position” on H-1B’s, and said that his 500% increase in H-1B’s he proposed was just a poison pill to stop the Gang of 8 bill, do you see NOW what the true color of your candidate is, or are you going to continue living in that fantasy world of yours?
I think Cruz wants Trump to criticize Fiorina. Then Lyin’ Ted will jump on the War on Women bandwagon. IMHO, this is all about women voters in Indiana.
Trump should not take the bait and stay clear of Fiorina, leaving that to Katrina Pierson, if anyone.
The campaign can merely point to the Barbara Boxer ads.

I’m not aware of any of the candidates who have spoken out against off-shoring work, so she could have fit in with any of them.
“Id be curious who in his campaign staff came up with this idea.”
Look behind the curtain ...
Rove and the #NeverTrump crowd.
Also was it the same person who came up with the idea of Ted's PAC giving $0.5M to Carly's PAC?
She has always been a center-left establishmentarian. One need only review her campaign for Senator of California to know that.

That right there is fuuuuun-y.

Cruz is delutional.
He is eliminated yet picks a VP.
What world does Cruz live in? Fantasyland?
Apparently, the writer doesn’t know chainsaw al which has had this title for years.
The fantasyland of a contested convention.
If it does happen neither Cruz or Fiorina would be on the ticket.
Notice how the GOP Establishment big guns are laying low? I don’t think Jeb is off doing “cool stuff.”

Reince: Even VP Nomination Could Be Contested
Weekly Standard ^ | April 1, 2016 | Jim Swift
On Greta last night, RNC chairman Reince Priebus suggested to Fox News viewers that even the vice presidential nomination could be contested at the GOP convention in Cleveland later this year.
GRETA: The convention. Tell us for planning purposes. If it is a open/brokered/contested convention, will it last longer than we expect?
PRIEBUS: No.
GRETA: Its gonna just be those days?
PRIEBUS. Thats right.
GRETA: You think its gonna be put to bed?
PRIEBUS: We will put whatever systems in place, we will have meetings however long we need to have them... In order to make sure that we not only have a nominee both for president, and remember, theres a separate vote for vice president... as well that no ones talking about that. But theres another vote for vice president... And then on Wednesday and Thursday were gonna have a program. And theres going to be a convention, with, uh, obviously, our nominee to be concluded on Thursday night.
Aw man, beat me by miles...
