Fox News town hall: Trump blasts Cruz-Fiorina ticket roll-out as ‘waste of time’

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, at a Fox News-hosted town hall in Indianapolis, on Wednesday blasted rival Ted Cruz’s decision to announce a running mate even though he’s losing the nomination race – calling it a “waste of time.”

The billionaire businessman responded to Cruz’s campaign curveball, while also elaborating on a foreign policy speech he delivered earlier in the day, at the forum hosted by Greta Van Susteren.

“I think it’s really a waste of time, honestly,” Trump said of Cruz’s decision to name former presidential candidate and ex-HP CEO Carly Fiorina as his VP pick. Of the race, Trump said, “It should be over.”

Cruz earlier acknowledged it was “unusual” to name a VP choice so early, but defended the decision. He claimed “nobody is getting to 1,237 delegates,” the number needed to clinch the nomination, and voters should “know what [they] will get.”

After Trump swept five states across the Northeast on Tuesday, the three remaining GOP candidates are looking next to Indiana’s primary on May 3 as a pivotal point in the race – one that can show whether Trump turns his winning streak into irreversible momentum, or whether Cruz and John Kasich still have a shot at preventing him from clinching the nomination before July.

But Trump cast Cruz’s ticket roll-out Wednesday as a bid to distract from bad headlines, calling it “awfully early” for such an announcement.

“You have to first get the nomination. … He has zero chance,” he said.

Trump declined to go into detail about his own potential running mate choices. “I have a lot of great people. I just don’t like to talk about it right now,” he said.

All I can think of when I see her picture is...cardboard.
I'm reminded of the movie "Mars Needs Moms". There's an evil Martian called "The Supervisor"

BTW, nice, entertaining movie. Not all Martians are ugly though. Some are cute:

I have to agree.

Not sure if the following is a recipe for success:

1) come in 3rd in 4 out of 5 primaries
2) announce you will be running with someone who got considerably less traction with the voters than more than a few other wannabes
3) wait for the tides to change

IMO, it would have been a game changer is he had selected her the day after she dropped out. His announcement yesterday was nothing but a desperate attempt to save his campaign.

He is doing it to prepare for the contested convention.

Stop repeating the lie of 65,000 Coloradans voting.
Colorado Poll April 5: 44% TRump ........34% Cruz

Where are the CO vote tallies. There was no election. It did not happen.
Four CO state senators cancelled the CO primary election.
All are members of Cruz’s leadership team on his website and seen with him in social media. Two are Cruz delegates. They are traitors to Coloradans. The entire CO delegation is subject to being unseating at the convention.

This is from Greenpapers nonpartisan election website:

Candidate Precinct

—————————PopularVote———Delegate Votes

Cruz, Rafael “Ted”..........00000.........34 100.00%
Uncommitted 4 10.81%
(available) 3 100.00% 3 8.11% 3 8.11%
Total 34 100.00% 3 100.00% 37 100.00% 37 100.00%
Delegate Selection: Caucus/Convention

Ted ran unopposed and won 100% of the delegates.

The Colorado Delegation is Shameful!

They should be publicly humiliated and lose there place at the convention.

Wrong again. You just proved there was no vote in Colorado. I suggest that you bother to read an article prior to posting it here?

>>>>>THE Republican Party Canceled the Straw Poll<<<<<

“Even though the state Republican Party canceled the straw poll, Adams County officials decided to hold an “unofficial” count.”

“”The precinct didn’t entertain speeches from the candidates’ supporters — “You know who the candidates are,” the organizer said. Instead, the neighbors wrote a last name on a pink slip and submitted it to the secretary.””

TRUMP WINS, YET THERE IS NO OFFICIAL RECORD!! Get It?

“The final vote count: Trump six, Cruz four, Rubio four and Carson one.”

1. Colorado has 1,000,000 registered republican voters.

2. 4 Colorado state senators who are TEAM CRUZ leadership donors and/or Delegates voted to cancel a CO primary to benefit Cruz.

3. Republican Colorado Party members Cancelled the March 1 poll.

4. It was a SHAM caucus, they show up and are not counted, nor do they vote since the straw poll was cancelled.

5. Poll of 650+ Coloradans revels Trump winning 44% Trump to 34% Cruz.

6. The 2012 and 2016 Delegate list reveal 1/3 to 1/2 of the CO delegates are the same ROMNEY RETREADS from 2012.

7. 2012 CO Cheats. CO Primary won by Rick Santorum by 6% of the vote, the majority of delegates awarded to Romney.

Reality= Colorado is run by Cheating & Scheming Republican Party Members. They send a delegation to the RNC convention built on fraud.

That is like saying the Germans in WW2 didn't lose the war until Berlin fell.

It's over for Cruz.
