MANCHESTER, N.H. —Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will announce on Wednesday afternoon that former presidential rival Carly Fiorina has agreed to be his running mate should he win the GOP presidential nomination.

Sources confirmed to WMUR political director Josh McElveen and political reporter John DiStaso that Fiorina, who has been a supporter of Cruz for several weeks, will be the focus of the announcement that Cruz intends to make in Indiana Wednesday afternoon.

Fiorina won in a California primary, just not in the general election, which we won’t be winning in the fall either.

Fiorina is a good V.P. for any candidate to help battle Hillary. The “war on women” attacks get blunted, and she can attack Hillary as hard as she wants without being accused of being sexist. She may peel off some voters who are non-political and just wanted “the first women president” but really dislike Hillary personally.

Imagine that presidency...

He’d be hiding behind her every time Iran got on the podium at the UN, then she’d go on TV and scold everyone for picking on Ted.

He makes Pee Wee Herman look alpha.

Uh, okay. Cruz is being frivolous. Wants some media attention. “Over here!”

Fiorina’s credentials aren’t the issue.

The issue is that she and Cruz would be calling on the opposition to Clinton to blow itself up.

A lady who lost one important election in California isn’t likely to get Californians to buy that objective.

> If someone said to VictoryGal, “I know I’m mathematically eliminated, but I want you to vote for me in California so we can blow up any unified effort to oppose Clinton in the Fall.” what would VictoryGal say?

“Nuts to that” :-) It’s a pretty cheap ploy, a desperation move, plus I am no fan of Fiorina, who wrecked one of the best companies in CA and lost miserably in her Senate campaign.

I started this election rooting for Cruz, but I have to say that Trump is the one running the better campaign AND seems to have the guts to espouse conservative ideals. I think he can really win against Clinton, and I don’t see Cruz with that kind of chance even if he did have the nomination numbers (which he doesn’t)

The million dollar question is: will the GOPe listen to the will of the people during the convention, or will they try to overturn it and install someone they think they can control, and to lose to Clinton? I wouldn’t put it past ‘em.

Excellent post, VictoryGal.

I think Cruz is being used by the GOPE to do exactly as you suggest.

At least they know it will blow up the opposition to Clinton. They know it will install Clinton and are okay with it. It leaves the status quo in place.

I wonder if Cruz and Fiorina realize it?

She also had a little problem at a hotel party earlier this year. Something like calling 911 and telling them not to respond to an incident at the hotel...as the Governor. She apologized for lack of judgement, but that’s too fresh of an incident.

This will give him an excuse for her to campaign for and with him in California. This way he hopes people will not say he is hiding behind her skirt.

Good grief. Cruz is committing political suicide, not that that is a bad thing.

One of the greatest videos ever would be if Trump showed up across the street about 1 minute after Cruz started his presser.

I don’t remember hearing about this but it sounds awful. Can you give me a link to the story? Thanks.

I’m fine with Trump. I get Trump.

I was referring to the paring of Cruz and Fiorina. The more I got to know those two the less I liked them. I started out thinking I liked them just fine.

I suppose I could have been more clear but their names are in the thread title.

I would have liked Wallace and Ladmo.

And they talk about Trump’s ego.

This is the most bizarre and pathetic thing I’ve ever witnessed in American politics.

Doesn’t Cruz realize how weak and desperate he is appearing to the public?

First, he latches onto Kasich and now he hitches his crippled wagon to Fiorina. And his every breath is attacking Trump.

This man is incapable of selling himself, shoot, he can’t even give himself away to the public.

Makes sense.

Ted needs a skirt to hide behind when he faces questions he can’t handle on his own.

Also, she can’t ‘Hewlett-Packard’ him since his campaign can’t get much worse anyway.
