In my opinion, most of what you wrote is frustration because Cruz got beat...badly. Deal with it. He’s not all that great of a candidate. His principles are, but you have to be able to get people to want to vote for you and believe in you, and clearly, the majority, regardless of how many people Cruz claims are voting against Trump, more are voting for Trump than him.
I will concede you’re right on the “people” understanding the need to return to Constitutional principles. However, it has taken many, many years to get to where we are in relation to where we should be with the Constitution, it will take many, many years to get back, if it is even possible to that degree. All societies move left over time...it is replete through history. The difference being some move left faster than others. Perhaps the best we can hope for is to stop the runaway train we’re on away from the Constitution and slowly swing the pendulum the other way.
Frankly Cruz ran a bad campaign. Further he is about as charismatic as a dead fish. The fact that he gave Trump a run for the money speaks more to Trump's weaknesses than Cruz's strengths. Maybe you should deal with that.
Trump is going to have a hard road to the presidency. He is not going to win it without burying the hatchet that he used to pummel Cruz and Kaisich and Rubio and everyone else he insulted and ridiculed to get his people energized.
He needs the ground troops that Cruz has. Trump will not be able to win without them.
That being said, I think that Cruz needs to face reality. At this point there is no stopping Trump from winning on the first ballot. If he is going to go forward at this point, he needs to stop mentioning Trump by name and get back the message he had before the feud started.
