I work with a very talented web designer in Pakistan and one day I asked, “Are you Muslim?”
He said, “Everybody here is.”
I thought that was one of the saddest things I’ve ever heard. No choice and I can imagine what someone would endure if they tried leaving Islam.
He probably doesn’t mean that, in the sense of believing it. Most Muslim in Iran are actually closet atheists, because they are Persian first and hate that their traditional religions cannot be practiced, but they cant say anything else than what your friend told you.
