The Republican Convention Will Not Be Contested
PJ Media ^ | 04/25/2016 | Roger L Simon

Apologies to those who still don't accept the inevitability of a Donald Trump candidacy in the Republican Party -- I feel your pain, as a famous prevaricator/predator once said -- but, disappointing as it may be to Fox and CNN executives, not to mention the millions or hundreds of thousands of voters loyal to Messrs. Cruz and Kasich, it's all over but the shouting and the backbiting. Cleveland in July may not be Christmas in July, but it's not going to be the second coming of the 1992 L.A. riots or the 1968 Chicago convention either.

I also believe that Trump will mop the floor with Hillary in November.

Anyone who thinks Trump will lose against Hillary is sadly mistaken. Trump will win in a landslide.

I agree to one theory on that, (not a new one): "The Bradley effect"

I was surprised that my wife voted for Trump in the primary (I voted for Cruz), she remained silent in family discussions on Trump and even made comments that one could conclude that she was against him.

I have long said that I will vote for anyone over Hillary, Trump is no exception to that.

“The unmitigated hate will continue to be heaped upon me on this forum. I’m hated more than Hillary in these parts. All because of my tagline.”

Please. Get a hanky. I’ve been told I should kill myself because I support Trump. I’ve read where Cruz supporters call Trump an “abortion” that should have happened and how all of his supporters are in full-retard mode and should be dropped of the edge of a cliff.

Get over yourself. The nastiness abounds from all sides of the aisle.

I posted before the 5 Stages of Cruz, and it went something like this:

1. Enthusiastic support.
2. Waning a little.
3. Doubt.
4. Dislike.
5. Loathing.

It's like being his college roommate, by the end of the semester.

No, you’re not hated more than Hillary. You are equal to Hillary, because by supporting Ted’s continuing crusade, you are only helping elect Hillary.

Trump has 2 million more votes than Romney did at this point in 2012.

Because they only have 2 candidates, so one has to get over 50% by definition. Hence, no contested convention.

He nails the truth I know from working an election in the swing state of Nevada...

“Trump, of all the Republicans, if indeed he is a Republican, who is enough of a wild card to overcome the new American demographics that so favor Democratic candidates in presidential elections. They were bad enough when Obama ran against Romney. They are worse now.”

On the ground, I knew we would lose the Nevada election. We were not winning hearts in minds in a county where the unemployment was still hanging at 10%. People could not get into Romney, for a variety of reasons.

The Trump campaign is reaching out and grabbing people by the throat on one hand and giving them a hug with the other.

The electorate does not want and will not listen to any great cerebral arguments. That is why we lose.

Trump speaks clearly and directly. His speech pattern is on a 4th grade level which reaches the largest audience. This is purposeful. The averages adult IQ in the US has now dropped to 98, never mind our lack of attention span.

The people on this Freeper forum are exceptional. I cannot stress the importance of message delivery and its relationship to the Republican difficulty with winning elections. This problem is not going away.

We have to persuade the voters as we find them. Trump ignores the pundits and speaks directly to the voters. That is what it will take to win.

If Trump wins in Indiana, it’s over.
