I back bread lines too.
If we had bread lines today, you’d see people lined up for two city blocks in every neighborhood waiting for their bread. Then you’d KNOW how much the Obama Economy really sucks.
As it is we give them SNAP cards that scan at checkout, and no one is the wiser. And Obama can go right on lying about 5.2% unemployment. Out of sight, out of mind.
I like your thinking.
Maybe EBT cards should only be used at stores
that are run by a PostOffice-DMV consortium.
Your touching on something I’ve been thinking about for some time. The whole “welfare” setup including the sub-prime loans for housing and automobiles is intended by the government (both parties) to keep the poor in place. The government does not want a repeat of the ‘Dust Bowl’ on a grand scale, where homeless, hungry people roamed the highways in search of work for food and shelter. The government knows there is no work for the poor because they ‘sold’ those jobs to other nations.
Hence the ever and faster increasing cycle of debt. The politicians, who run the government, main goal is to keep the cycle going until they can get out of office.
