Cross exam, plaintiff’s lawyer to coroner:
“So Doctor, I believe you testified that the victim was clinically dead on your table at 1:45 PM. Is that correct? You’re sure of that”
Coroner: (hesitating, looking at jury) “Well, yes. In that I just testified from my recorded notes of the autopsy that I had removed his brain at approximately 1:30 PM ... but I suppose we could have put the paddles on him and enrolled him in law school.”
Very well done! I needed a good laugh. Too bad a lot of the time there is more truth than fiction to that kind of comment.
