Sounds like a clear case for executive clemency. If Obama were not so strict about minding the limits of the powers of the presidency, this would probably have already been done.

If all else fails, the young man will have to fly to Mexico and cross the border illegally. If he can get 500 yards into the U.S., the border patrol can pick him up, give him bus fare back to Oregon, and all will be well. He can even get in-state tuition in many places around the country, not just Oregon.

“Peter A. DeFazio, a Democrat, is the United States Representative from the 4th congressional district of Oregon. First elected in 1987, Representative DeFazio has served the state of Oregon for twenty-nine years,”

ought to be camped out on the White House steps, waiting to buttonhole Obama to try and rectify this.

That is what a true representative would do.
