NBA Commish: ‘Necessary’ to Change Bathroom Law to Hold All-Star Game in Charlotte

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver put his foot down on Thursday, asserting that for the 2017 All-Star Game be held in Charlotte, it is “necessary” that North Carolina change its law mandating people use only public restrooms corresponding to their biological sex in government buildings.

This moves the discussion to a more definitive stance than the NBA adopted earlier in the month. In an apparent threat, Silver said that he did not know what impact the “discriminatory law” would have on the league’s ability to showcase the game in the Tar Heel state. Silver added that the law is “problematic for the NBA in North Carolina.”

According to Dan Feldman at NBC Sports, “The league is so far ahead on this issue, it deserves praise rather than nitpicking over an evolving message.” He believes that the NBA could still hold the All-Star Game weekend in Charlotte because of viability issues, but that is unlikely given the amount of time before the event scheduled for next February.

NBA icon Charles Barkley and Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy already called for the game to be moved from Charlotte. Entertainers Bruce Springsteen, Boston, and Pearl Jam have also canceled concerts in North Carolina in protest of the law. Recently PayPal jettisoned its plan for a global operations center in Charlotte, which likely cost the state up to 400 new jobs.

Friday, President Obama speaking in London weighed in on the issue saying he thinks that the laws in North Carolina and the “religious freedom law” in Mississippi are “wrong and should be overturned.” Admitting that they are crafted by good people, he stated, “Although I respect their different viewpoints, I think it’s very important for us not to send signals that anybody is treated differently.”

“Instead of standing up to these PC bullies, Trump joined them by criticizing the anaconda law on national TV.

I used to be pro trump. Thought he was anti PC. But he’s not. He’s a PC believer, or a coward

Now he’s dead to me

Trump is not a social conservative, so he is not a conservative at all.

Those who voted for him, especially those in the South, will find this to be a brutal and painful eye-opener.

“Is it really any wonder why God has allowed us to have fallen so far? Moslems the world over believe, and rightly so in many cases, that the USA is filled with godless heathens that are followers of Satan himself. “

Just remember where this all started. It was when Affirmative Action became a no-no and morphed instead to diversity.

The lie was spread that diversity is good and we need it, so now we have to have all diverse cultures and beliefs accepted into our lives, no matter how deviant to make us ‘better’.

Don’t believe it? Here’s an example of the person who ramrodded Target’s recent decision to allow men in women’s bathrooms. She is a community organizer who sits on the White House’s Council for Community Solutions Comunityhttps://corporate.target.com/press/leadership/laysha-l-ward

“Aren’t the lines for the bathroom long enough already?”

They are not going in to go potty.

“Until we start using the same or better tactics, we’ll just continue getting steamrolled.”

I for one am using those tactics.

That is why I would never vote for someone who supports this deviancy like Donald Trump.

I remember in HS. gym class our coach and the girl’s coach decided to let us play softball together. After a couple of days they put an end to that. Even though none of the girls got hurt the principal didnt think it was a good idea.

“I swear, perverts will NEVER stop shoving their perversions in our face. After this, it’ll be something else, on and on without end.”

The end game is to outlaw decency so all religious organizations will be held to be outlaws.

Once that happens, morality is gone, and man is free without conscience able to do anything he pleases.

Make no mistake, this is all about the squashing of religion, which is the thorn in the side of libs.

Women with small boys to old for going to the bathroom with mom’s need to start invading Male bathrooms to protect their son’s from what goes on in them including sex, masturbation, and rape of male children. See how you males would like it.

Stay the H out of my bath room or install a single stall bathroom like they have at doctor’s offices.

Feel free to share my facebook post. Ridicule is the best way to go.
I applaud the NBA for the conviction it’s showing by threatening to withdraw next year’s All-Star game from Charlotte because of the state’s new bathroom law. With such a principled stand on this cutting edge issue, you’d think it would have to cancel today’s playoff game in the very same city to send an ethically consistent message. As part of that message, you’d also think it would have already banned selling any NBA merchandise in NC altogether. And given the league’s national presence, not sure why it would stop in NC. Seems the NBA would use its national influence to get binding written commitments under oath from every owner and player from every team in the league declaring they do not support the NC law and never will. If any of them refuse to sign, you’d expect the NBA to immediately terminate all of their contacts per the moral clauses in them. I’m just surprised this hasn’t happened already, given the principled stand the NBA has taken.

Is it really any wonder why God has allowed us to have fallen so far?

************************************************************

He has “allowed” us because we have a free will. What has happened has happened because “we” allowed it too happen.

The Charlotte Hornets are the local NBA team. Likely heavily subsidized by the city. So why not pass a state law that all subsidies to corporations must have the approval of the state?

Then, if the NBA really wants to get shirty, then another law that requires professional sports teams in the state to be licensed. A license requiring transparency in ownership, that is, that the owners must disclose their financial holdings.

While all of this sounds severe, it is past time for states to fight back against corporations that are trying to force them to adopt repulsive laws and regulations. And the only stick that works on those mules costs them millions of dollars.

“We have to live with all their crap and they cant live with any of our issues winnng.”

Actually, if you read the Bible, it is God’s issues.

And they will win in the end, regardless of what libs try to do.

“I am sure the NBA are ignorant of state statutes against indecent exposure.”

Statutes mean nothing here, as once a man gets into the bathroom with your daughter, he cares less. we need to stop the encouragement.

One can create statutes to punish murder, but does that prevent murder? No, only decreases its encouragement.

And that is what we need to do, starting with understanding and encouraging the Bible, which is our moral compass.

The end game here is strip away God’s word so that man can do whatever he wants with impunity.

Only the Bible is able to be that moral compass, and the libs hate it being there and wish to outlaw it.

I agree it is within a state’s prerogative to regulate within its own state.

The libs are trying to isolate individual states and make everything a federal issue so the states lose that power. It is why they so fervently want a liberal Supreme Court.

think of the damage they could so. remember when they had the house, senate and president and what they shoved down our throats like Obamacare?

If the law is so offensive to the NBA, why aren’t they taking steps to move the Charlotte Hornets to a city in another State?

Nah, the NBA isn’t THAT serious about their opposition to the law.

""Only the Bible is able to be that moral compass, and the libs hate it being there and wish to outlaw it."

The anti-Christian component is present in everything the Left does. Just ask the Christians who lived in the old Soviet Union. I have a good friend who told me about his life in the Ukraine. Christianity was a ticket to Siberia. Thank God for Pope John Paul II. the Grand Alliance between John Paul II, Reagan and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, that a global strategy to defeat Soviet Communism was enacted which changed the world.

I am not so confident with our current Pope. I think we have the veil of the papacy over raw social justice, Liberation theology, and Communism. When America elects Presidents who have no moral compass and embrace the anti-Christian Left, there is no voice for our Christian legacy. And, with our religious leaders muzzled by strict IRS 501C interpretations by the thugs in the Obama Regime, we have Christians, like the Little Sisters of the Poor, fighting against the Obamacare Birth Control Mandate. I would credit Pope Francis for weighing in for the Little Sisters. However, it may be a deflective effort to white wash his socialistic agenda. I hope Pope Francis fights the transgender movement with common sense and the message of Christ. It is a sickness that requires the blood of Christ and the healing power of the Holy Spirit.

When the Left allows men to expose their private parts in women's facilities, our nation will have sunk to a new low. These "transgendered" pretenders are still male as the Johns Hopkins Psychiatry Department concluded. Human sexual identity is mostly built into our constitution by the genes we inherit and the embryogenesis we undergo. Male hormones sexualize the brain and the mind.

Autogynephilia is the mental illness that describes males who find themselves enjoying cross-dressing as women. Most fall into one of two quite different groups. One group consisted of conflicted and guilt-ridden homosexual men who saw a sex-change as a way to resolve their conflicts over homosexuality by allowing them to behave sexually as females with men. The other group, mostly older men, consists of heterosexual (and some bisexual) males who found intense sexual arousal in cross-dressing as females. These men-who-claimed-to-be-women reported that they found women sexually attractive and that they saw themselves as "lesbians." It is this characteristic that makes them a danger in these women's facilities. The genetic maleness hard wired into their mind through genetics, will be expressed no matter how hard they try to clothe it or transform it. The lipstick is on a pig.
