Texas Sen. Ted Cruz collected the overwhelming majority of Maine's Republican delegates during the state's GOP convention Saturday.

Cruz collected 19 of the 20 spots up for grabs, with the 20th spot going to Maine Gov. Paul LePage, who's supporting GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

Yes, it says that Trump can win the general election and that Crfuz can only "win" through cheating, bribes, and fraud.

You don't know anything at all about N.Y. State, nor the primaries.

Trump has won all of his wins with a "majority". You can't win a vote with less than that.

Cruz got 43 point something% in his adopted home state's primary, which means that about 56% of Texans voted against him. That really stinks on ice.

You're nuts!

It proves that Cruz can ONLY win through bribery, fraud, payoffs, and what most people see as cheating.

As a Senator, Ted got absolutely NOTHING at all done. Of course, he's just a lowly first term Senator, who has spent half of his time running for president. Sound like someone else this nation can't wait to see the back of?

The thing is, Trump could have decided to invest more time in Colorado and Wyoming, and it probably wouldn’t have made a difference, because the little guy was already locked out of the system. The selection process was controlled by the party bosses and they had already made up their mind who was going to win. The little guy had already been cut out of the process when both state parties decided to get rid of their caucuses and choose their delegates by committee instead.

I think if there had been an actual caucus or primary in those states were voters actually had a chance to vote, Trump would have campaigned there, but it was obvious that the system was rigged. With limited options with which to fight it, he made the best of a bad situation - focus on states he knew he had a chance of winning, and expose the unfairness of Colorado and Wyoming after the fact.

You truly shouldn't talk about things you so obviously know NOTHING at all about!

Trump won all but one teensy county in N.Y. State with over 61% of the vote.

And he has won most of the other states within the 40-50% range. He should win ALL of the primaries on Tuesday, with at least three states within the 50%-60% range. Also, many of these states ( N.Y. for one ) are CLOSED PRIMARY states.

Now run along and look for a thread whose topic you actually know SOMETHING factual about.

Rhode Island is THE smallest state in the union and Trump IS going to win that state, where voters actually get to VOTE, come Tuesday!

There are LOTS of "small" states that trump has won and shall win, so again, you still don't know what you're talking about.

>>Trump does best where Dems and Indies determine the winner. Says something about Donny.

Why are some Cruz supporters STILL writing negative posts about Mr. Trump? Have they not read Jim’s multiple threads where he states he stands 100% behind the Republican front runner, DJT?
He specifically asks that posters stop with the Trump bashing and get unified behind DJT, OR “TAKE IT ELSEWHERE”.

By continuing to post words smearing Mr. Trump, you disrespect the owner of this site, as well as aid and abet the enemy, HRC. These are Jim’s words, and this is HIS site.

Because Ted is the face man. Ted gets the blame because it’s HIS name on the ticket. Ted started out doing scurrilous things in plain view - like the Iowa mailings and telling people that Carson had left the race. THAT was his level of ground game until the race got down to three and Trump was still winning. If Jeb had hung in there until there were three - it would be he that was benefiting from this maneuver - because Jeb never would have made it to first place on his own and the elites knew that. If Ted were in first place over Jeb! you would see this complex delegate game being played out by JEB! not Ted.

When the #nevertrump thing solidified in the GOPe is when we suddenly see this very sophisticated game emerge.

Do you believe that a JUNIOR senator, one who has run on being the only non-establishment guy, has that massive of a very structured and well connected team? To be able to get to every state that has voted, and many that haven’t, in such a short period of time - and get in there and pull off this stuff in a way that has not been done before (although the rules allow for it) by any candidate? You believe that a man who stated HE DID NOT KNOW he was a Canadian citizen until less than two years ago - that same man put together this scheme on the fly?

This is a massive “network”, and when you hear enough of The Party Leaders of the various states speak about doing what THEY think is Right For The Party, well, I don’t think Ted orchestrated all of that in the matter of just a few months.

Anyone who didn’t know how this system has been working for all of our lifetimes has been dangerously unobservant.

Honest question, could you elaborate on some other recent examples?

Teach him a lesson. Don’t Vote and just give it to Hillary!

It wouldn't matter if every registered Republican voted for Cruz; he is absolutely toxic to the independent and cross-over voters.

The GOP is setting up Cruz to be the sacrificial, useful-idiot.

While the Maine GOP awarded 23 total delegates proportional to the vote in the state's caucus on March 5 (12 to Cruz, 9 to Trump, 2 to Kasich), those delegates are bound to a presidential candidate only on the first nominating ballot at the national convention.

The election isn't going to a 2nd ballot so this is meaningless.

Trump gets his 9 votes on the first ballot.

ot sure about Dems crossing over, and Indies, but the problem is, a small "majority" of GOP votes state-by-state (less than 35-40 %) is not going to carry the day in the general election if 40 % or more GOP'ers voted for someone else in the primaries.

So what you're saying is that Cruz and Kasich are unelectable in the general, right?

Honest answer: every election in the past hundred years?

Just elaborate on a couple of recent elections. If you don't have any examples, there's no shame in that.
