No Senate confirmation. It’s only because they let them get away with it.

Peabody Energy, Arch Coal and other once vibrant coal producers have filed for Chapter 11 protection, shedding some $30 billion in shareholder value and tens of thousands of jobs in their companies and dependent industries. The bloodletting has left communities and states reeling, union pension funds and 401k plans empty, and the health, welfare, hopes and dreams of countless families dashed on the rocks.

President Obama promised to bankrupt coal companies with punitive regulations, and he kept his word.

This isn't unforeseen collateral damage - it is the intended consequence.

Did this action on the part of Obama hurt blacks or whites more?

Did it hurt muslims or non-muslims more?

Did it hurt liberal elites or the patriotic heartland more?

Did it hurt democrat strongholds or people more likely to vote more conservatively?

Did it lessen individual independence and create more reliance on government?

Hydraulic fracturing did play a role. It made natural gas abundant and inexpensive, and gas-fueled power plants increasingly attractive for utilities that were forced to shutter modern coal-fired units that provided reliable, affordable power, emitted little harmful pollution, and had years of useful life remaining.

Don't worry about that. Joe Sestak is already campaigning for Pat Toomey's seat on a campaign to ban fracking. We can sell the coal to China as a pay-down for our national debt and gather and burn buffalo chips. < / sarcasm >

Why aren’t we making thousands of fourth generation nuclear plants?

That question is dead on right.

I’m waiting for an answer from Trump.

I keep thinking this thought. When are the powers in the “climate change” movement going to blame “climate change” on the fact that there are too many people in the world? And what will their “solution” be?

If you go to the coal producing regions of Appalachia, there is one thing that is obvious to all. Residents are almost 100% white. Virtually no minorities. Hence, the Obama’s Administration’s complete lack of sympathy. There is a race war going on in America, the enemy are white people and it’s being led by the U.S. Government

Totally agree with you! They forget that Pres. Lincoln. a Republican, bought a country in Africa so the slaves could go back home, but they didn’t want it.

A fair number actually did accept passage back to Liberia. The populace have fairly American-sounding names to this day.

They've already alluded to their "solution" many times. When I was a journalism major as a college freshman, I used to frequent coffee houses and the like where all these intellectuals hang out. The stories about Bill Ayers and Saul Alinski are just the tip of the iceberg.

A favorite topic was how many people the planet could support. A favorite number hovered around a half billion because that is what the planet supported (give or take a few million) for most of recorded history before the industrial revolution. Others would argue that technological advances which, of course, had nothing to do with the advent of capitalism, would allow the globe to now support six to eight times that many.

Of course, they would appoint themselves to select who is worthy to live.

My boy works for a Utah railroad and reports their rail traffic is down by almost 50% and the companies that flourished transporting coal are looking at layoffs.

Another item for which to thank our imam-in-chief.

It might be interesting to find out where the various
mineral rights are ending up.
Someone could be making a killing.
