Somehow we require a regime that requires more prisoners per capita than any other nation in the world, and this is a problem crying out as an open wound in the way our justice system works.

Let see! Saudi Arabia, they cut off the offending member, be it a hand, foot or another more sensitive appendage. Malaysia, they beat the criminal with bamboo canes.

Of course their prison populations are low. Executions seem to reduce the need for incarceration.

One last thought. If this concerns you so much, then you take these animals into your home and you be responsible for them. If they commit a crime under your care, then you do their punishment.

You believe that Saudi Arabia and Malaysia are the standards by which the United States should be compared?

Is that our baseline?

If it is, we may as well come flat out and admit that this is already a third-world country.
