IMO, having a pit bull is like walking around with a bomb where a quick movement or sudden noise will trigger it.
I have an elderly friend with one who swears it is gentle...I keep waiting for the bad news...I hope it never comes.
A dog’s personality and temperament should be checked to adoption.
With an older dog, you usually know what you’re getting.
I would not recommend a dog or cat unsupervised around infants and small children.
People that have this breed, especially around small children, are fools....as this proves and all the previous instances have proven.
Agree, it’s instinctual. I have a black lab. They are natural birders and fishers. When I splash my hand in the pool, like a fish struggling in shallow water she nearly goes catatonic. Eyes bulging, mouth agape, grunting, growling, ready to pounce, etc. It’s pure instinct. I tell my kids the fish-like splashing triggers her instinctual fishing behavior. They think it’s funny but I warn them she can bite or jump on them, completely out of her mind, trying to get ‘the fish’.
read an article a couple of weeks ago about a man that got a pit from a shelter....the dog killed him that night. The picture of him and the dog,,,,,he looked so happy or maybe it was smug.
