Goldfinger the best of the Connery Bond films.
He had a good run. Left a nice Legacy.
Molly Peters in “Thunderball”. Her best-known appearance was the role of Bond girl, Patricia Fearing or Pat, a nurse who takes care of James Bond (Sean Connery) while he is on holiday at her health clinic in Thunderball (1965). Much overlooked due to a relatively small part early in the film.........very attractive IMO, the word “smoldering” comes to mind.
The opening sequence of Goldfinger, from Bond emerging from the water through the bathtub, titles, song and helicopter/pool/underpool pan in Miami is a work of art. One of the greatest directed sequences in film history. Masterpiece by Hamilton. RIP.
Goldfinger was my favorite Connery Bond film as well. I remember shortly after the film hit the theaters, toy stores were flooded with the tricked out Aston Martin DB5 models. I think you could even find a cheap one in a box of Trix. I was a little young to understand the double meaning of “Pussy Galore.”
Very accessible character - he would invite the regular peeps like me to join him at his hotel restaurant table back in the 1980’s and pick up the tab. He would delight his guests with stories about making films. RIP
Despite the moore films, RIP.
Synchronizing Bond lighting his cigarette w/ a cynical sneer at the same time the bomb he planted went off..... was brilliant.
RIP.
It's been a very bad year so far.
