The problem for the country is Open-Borders-Rubio is more unethical than Cruz, and you can’t change a person’s character; especially a politician’s character.
From what I have seen over the last couple of months I would take Rubio over Cruz. I have done a complete 180 on Cruz. If that is what it takes to get Trump as President so be it.

Trump would undermine his own message enormously by making someone like Rubio his VP pick. Rubio represents everything that has gone wrong with the GOP.
That might be the ticket most could at least tolerate.
Rubio is an empty suit and a prima dona who thought that he was too good to show up to the Senate. He's despised in his own state and would bring absolutely nothing to the table.
What Trump needs as a running mate is a policy wonk who knows the inside and out of the House or Senate from experience, but without a bloated ego of his own. The exact opposite of Rubio, in other words.
Even the dull Kasich would be a better pick.
