In this video, it appears to be as bright as day even though it is the middle of the night because it's taken with a THERMAL INFRARED CAMERA that is sensitive to the heat radiation emitted by the scene (8-12 micron wavelength) rather than the visible light reflected by the scene (350-800 nanometer wavelength). Earth scenes ALWAYS look "bright as day" to a thermal infrared camera.
