He'd have to win 89% of the remaining delegates to secure the nomination in Cleveland. Trump only needs to win 56% to do it. Kasich? He's never gonna get there.
Cruz was well under 50% in TX, Trump well over 50% in NY.
Trump did respectively well in Cruz's home state. Cruz did so poorly that his vote was statistically near-insignificant.
Cruz said he's the only alternative to Trump. Since pathetic KSick can slam him that badly for the anti-Trump vote, that argument is officially bogus.
NY has a legitimate primary procedure that keeps the voting (as much as possible) to folks who are Republicans and had to sign up many months ago. Thus, it's what the 'pubs in places like CO and WY say they want...party members doing the voting in primaries. Cruz had next to no support when that actually happened.
Teddie and the Cruzers.....GIVE IT UP. We have a chance to change the trajectory of the US. The chance is realistic if Cruz gets out of the race now and allows us ALL rally around Trump!
I have been a Cruz supporter since the outset, but not a rabid fanboy calling everyone names. These are politicians, they’d all run over their own mother to win this. None are worthy of fanaticism.
That said, I am first and foremost dead set against a Hillary or Bernie Administration. As has been customary upon being eliminated from a chance to get a majority, I think Cruz and Kasich should drop out and let the unification of support against Hillary begin. It is the grown up thing to do and would preserve the opportunity for both to run again later. Doing anything else will destroy them, is being purposely divisive, destructive and will likely put Hillary in the White House.
One thing should be PERFECTLY CLEAR about Cruz. Even if were to somehow win the nomination, he’d still have to deal with just how much he’s hated in non-conservative parts of the country - he simply has NO CROSSOVER APPEAL and will struggle very hard to get anywhere the 270 EVs needed to win in November. Trump, of course, is just the opposite, as the entire Midwest comes into play for him, and even possibly the Northeast.
No one is mathematically eliminated from winning the nomination, all but Trump simply cannot do it on the first ballot. The whole game is to make sure no candidate wins on the first ballot. This mathematically eliminated stuff means nothing.
Congratulations Trump Won his home state the great liberal NY (isn’t that like bragging that you won Washington D.C.?)
New York - TRUMP WON

OH yeah... If Trump wins the nomination this is going to fantastic..... He will win like we have never seen before...
The ~50 unbound delegates in PA will be critical. Trump is already setting the table to pressure them to go with the primary vote winner. There will lots of sunlight on these folks to do the right thing.......
If he doesn’t get the full 1272, it doesn’t matter.
It may not matter if he does.
defeaTED!!!
He has to win 85%??? Not likely to happen?? Understatement of the year...
