When we assigned people “sexes”, rather than “genders”, there wasn’t as much confusion about the matter. Of course, that confusion was the whole point of the change of the language — George Orwell warned us about this trick. If you don’t have the right words to express a clear thought, then you simply won’t be able to think clearly — and that’s what totalitarians of all strips want. And that’s why “gender” became the poetically-correct term, and “sex” became unfashionable; amongst the usual suspects.
“Sex” is biological and binary. “Gender” is a social-psychological construct, and is multi-faceted, and changeable. The confusion starts when people use the terms “sex” and “gender” interchangeably. (As does nearly every “progressive”, and their allies in the leftist media.) You can change “gender” (and, you can change it back too — although that’s not a politically-correct notion); but, you can’t change your sex. The best you can do is mimicry.
Yes. The terminology is confusing and meant to be.
I believe there are now 42 “choices” of gender available.
This whole agenda is sick and harmful. Yet the media and the politicians are promoting it to young people.
