I think that voters (not biased party delegates) are beginning to perceive Ted Cruz not as a Washington outsider, but rather an established party insider completely conversant with the ins and outs of Republican Party insider politics.

A typical candidate would have dropped out at the point Cruz shacked up with the GOPe. Unfortunately, Cruz is blinded by his lust for power and is unable to discern when it is time to call it a day.

Good observation. I think Trump was very serious from the beginning and knew he would be underestimated. He also knew he had to take out Bush if he had a shot against the machine. I think he was surprised at how quickly and easily he took him out.

Cruz, to his credit AND to his fault, let Trump clear the way and simply followed his lead. but once he moved out of Trump's draft, Cruz fell back and how now had to play the "rules" game which won't endear himself to most voters.
