Well no actually, I've started predicting the VP slot for Cruz months ago. GOPe/Cruz and Kasich is certainly a GOPer (as is Cruz). VP will be Teds reward for taking down Trump if Ted takes down Trump. Tomorrows NY primary will give some insight into just how strong the #NeverTrump GOPe is.
You seem to be conceding that Trump delegates will abandon him after the first ballot. That is my take. Since Trump had no ground game in place at these state conventions, he ends up with whatever GOPe delegate they stick him with.
I believe we will see much more defection from Trump than from Cruz once the delegates are released after the first ballot.
Another item that people are ignoring is how the platform and party rules will be shaped from this point forward. It is this delegation that will decide that. So the candidate who did his homework in getting delegates seated will have more influence over the future of the GOP over the next four years. For someone wanting to take down the GOP establishment, this is the only way to do it. Between all the talk coming from Trump and Cruz blasting the GOPe, Ted Cruz is the only one who is doing something about it. Just sayin'.
