Ted Cruz's Pyrrhic victory
WND ^ | 4/17/16 | Gina Loudon

Ted Cruz has been awarded the entire slate of delegates in Colorado and nearly all the delegates in Wyoming, but these victories came at a great cost to Cruz in this GOP primary.

All 34 delegates from Colorado and 23 in Wyoming went to Ted Cruz. Trump was awarded no delegates in Colorado, and one delegate from Wyoming.

Cruz can claim these two states as victories, but it may cost him more than he won.

Colorado and Wyoming have been termed “voterless victories” by Cruz opponents.

The state parties make the rules for primary elections, and this year, Wyoming and Colorado decided not to hold a primary or a caucus as most other states do traditionally. It is well within the rules for the state parties to award delegates without holding elections, but this year, the process has been in the spotlight.

In the past, Colorado and Wyoming allocated their delegates in similar ways as they did this year, although, since the delegate count is much closer this cycle, voters in those states finally noticed that no one asked for their opinions and a vote was not held in those states.

KEYWORDS:
The idea of delegates for a party nomination needs to be outlawed. I certainly hope that Mr. Trump does so by executive action as soon as he is sworn in.

I also hope he repeals the 22nd Amendment by executive order. I also hope he repeals Article 2 Section 1 by executive order so we don't have any of this messiness any more!!!!

This is what an insider looks like - a typical Washington DC bought-and-paid-for politician who beleives the ends justify the means, as long as the ends are his nomination. Even when the means include party insiders "deeming" who the candidate will be without a vote of the people. And Cruz wallows in it.

He cut the cheese for Amanda Carpenter. If he asks you to pull his finger, don’t do it.

Good article.

Cruz’s poll numbers are dropping like a rock.

WY and Colorado are the reasons.

Only the Dead Enders will be left supporting Cruz.

At first I read this with incredulity, but looking at your past posts I believe you are "crazy like a fox".

>>Cruz wallows in it.<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Perfect description.

Cruz is the 100% tone-deaf candidate who is Hillary’s last, best hope.

So you want to outlaw locally elected representatives? Do you know WHY Colorado adopted local election for delegates? It was done to eliminate the power of the National party bosses.

You do know that Colorado caucus process closely parallels the congressional Representative election process right?

At the press conference today Donald Trump said specifically that this is the kind of corruption that he wants to stop. He said that with his plane and resorts he could beat Cruz at the corrupt game, but he wasn’t going to do it. So if he looses to the corrupt system then you folks who support it can be proud of yourselves.

Cruz, as a lawyer mentored by Robert George, certainly knows that everything allowed is not moral.

Cruz is willing to do the delegate game which anyone with a moral sense knows is wrong.
