Race is used by non-whites to address inferiority complexes in non-whites (Asians excluded). If there is no racist boogeyman, they have to reflect on their own shortcomings - and that “personal responsibility” theme has been completely discarded.

There is a problem with under-achievement in the black community because the black kids attack other black kids who “act white”. Get As, join chess club, get beat up by blacks for acting white.
You can’t blame whites when the mass pulls down those who try to achieve more.
