Democratic presidential candidate and Vermont Sen.Bernie Sanders was invited to Vatican City to make a speech about income inequality.

"No, if I was really being political, I'd be in New York City right now and not in Rome," Sanders said. "For me, the issues that the pope is talking about are issues that I've been talking about for many, many years."

Sanders is a candidate for the Presidency. By definition anything that he does that the public knows about and most everything he does that they do not know about is political by definition.

Saying something like that shows how stupid he thinks the public is.

Going to Rome and meeting with the Pope is a defacto attempt to have the Catholic voter to assume that the Pope endorses his socialist views. Which apparently this Pope does.

Since it's too late for voters to join a political party for the NY primary, this is TERRIFIC. The dems in NY have to choose either Bernie or hillary. What did NY Catholics see this weekend? hill and Bill in CA at out of touch elitist big-donor dinners while Jewish Sanders meets with the Pope.

Wresting those votes from hillary is important. They're more likely to vote for Trump in November, since Sanders will lose the rigged Democratic nomination.
