DEMOCRAT STRATEGIST: Bernie Supporters Will Cross Over to Vote for Trump Instead of Hillary
Gateway Pundit ^ | April 15,2016 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 04/15/2016 3:46:40 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Democratic strategist Harlan Hill told Neil Cavuto today that up to 40% of Bernie Sanders supporters will cross over to Donald Trump if Bernie is eliminated.

Harlan Hill: Almost 40% of Bernie Sanders supporters say they will not support Hillary Clinton in the general election. And I expect that number to grow.

Neil Cavuto: Alright, will where will they go?

Harlan Hill: Well, I think they will either stay home or they will cross over.

Neil Cavuto: Who will they cross over to?

Harlan Hill: Donald Trump. That’s it. They’re not going to vote for Ted Cruz… I think that there is common ground that if Donald Trump plays his cards right he could appeal to a lot of Democrats.

It’s not an attraction to socialism so much as an attraction to someone who will face down the powers that be. Hillary represents the Dem insiders, and Cruz right now represents the Repub insiders, albeit as their third choice. Sanders and Trump are perceived as the outsiders challenging the status quo.

Hillary’s base of support is about 35%

This is clear in ALL the polls.

Trump’s base of support is also about 35%

The difference is... everyone KNOWS who Hillary is, and her numbers WILL NEVER MOVE.

Trump has been savaged by a combo of the right, left, insiders, and the media. Most of what people have heard about Trump is either a lie or a distortion of the truth.

Trump, unlike Hillary, CAN move his numbers. That doesn’t mean he will, but unlike Hillary he COULD. Just like Reagan did.

Just like with Republicans in Colorado the Democrat voters are very angry at the Democrat party stealing their votes with Super Delegates. The only reason to have such is to protect the party not represent the people. There is no legitimate reason to have super Delegates or unbound Delegates in a Republic other then to to protect the ruling class.

So, they can get vengeance on Hillary and the Democrats by voting for Trump who is not so bad to the majority of Americans with his positions of fixing America.

I don’t think it is damning.

Both Trump and Sanders see issues of illegal aliens, trade and jobs and safety as being paramount. That is why the both of them are resonating.

They disagree on how to implement the change.

No, it just shows how pissed off the voters are. Sanders has a lot of support because of the anybody but Clinton voters. Sanders ‘free everything’ is accepted as much as Trumps ‘I’m the best at everything’.

They’re parodies of campaigns. Trump parodies the right and Sanders Parodies the left.

Don’t be surprised if we end up with an independent ticket of Trump/Sanders.

They might see a candidate untethered to he established two party order.
Really, though, lots of Sanders supporters aren’t terribly logical and who knows what they’ll do?

Here’s a sign one was carrying today:

It is hard to pack more illogic into 9 words than that kid managed to do.

people are tires of rigged nominations defrauding voters. I fully expect a huge cross over. There is great resentment by the American people that thought their vote counted and find out its a JOKE!!

F$&@ the establishment

And his moderate views on subjects like abortion and gay marriage that will never attract a moderate or liberal or most independents to vote for Cruz which is why he would never get elected as president

Plus I think trump is a stong male figure to people who never had but crave such a thing.

Wrong.

They are not jumping ship over policies. They are jumping ship over having to hold their noses and vote for the DNC Selectee.

Sort of like the GOPestablish are threatening to do if Trump gets the 1237 delegates and, thus, the GOP nomination.

Excellent point

#nevertrump has indicated if they can’t get cruz or kasich then they’ll vote for hillary

To me that was the most shocking hypocrisy of the so- called Republican Party

No, its not...my goodness. It’s a protest vote against Hillary. It has nothing to do with Trump. However, it does to show how much of a landslide win Trump will have over Hillary.

Listen to Rita.

Trump has been making subtle appeals to the Bernie voters... "the D system is just a rigged as the R. I agree with Bernie on trade..."

No other R candidate would have the imagination to see the opportunity to peel a few of those away from the Dems.

“they would attract the same demographic that is attracted to socialism.”

It’s nothing like that. They’re people who are sick and tired of the establishment running the show and disenfranchising We The People.

What would Sanders’s supporters see in Trump that would make them vote for him?

That he is not a corrupt member of the Establishment.
