There is plenty of room to believe that all three things that you suggested Cruz said about Trump in that speech are true, especially because they are forward-looking statements.

Reasonable people supporting different candidates may, and do, disagree — but that doesn’t mean Cruz “lied” or “bore false witness” just because you don’t agree with him.

Well...

so a direct falsehood about what a persons status as a deal maker, what they have consistently said about Obama care and their stance on 2nd Amendment is excused because the person being impugned might some day do what is being said about him.

Then the article about Ted Cruz affairs is not “false” or bearing false witness, as he might someday have an affair.

kind of in a forward looking way...By your logic.

But that is not any definition of bearing false witness that I know of. If you assign a motive or intended action to someone who has said he does not intend to do such that is a falsehood. Cruz’s assertions were 180 degrees in opposition to what trump said he stood for. If Cruz thought Trump intends to do otherwise, he could make a case for that by reviewing Trumps past, while accurately representing what he says he stands for today. That would be fair. Cruz does not do that, he bears false witness about Trump and I will say with certainty. he has done it too much for to be an accident. I was being diplomatic before , I see no point in it now: Cruz is a liar.

Responses like yours flabbergast me. The Trump fans I know will readily admit that his flaws and they seem to see him clearly warts and all. The Cruz fans refuse to admit any flaw or imperfection in their candidate. It has the makings of a cult.

Given that I hope Cruz matches with your high ideals of him. But do not expect other folks to follow or believe a man is principled if he is repeatedly caught lying. Normal folks see it that way.

Which is all very disappointing to me, as I still think the best chance we have in this election is a Trump/Cruz 2016 and Cruz in 2020. They are both deeply flawed candidates, but better by far then the other alternatives. they would have balanced each other. I fear the clash of egos will bring every thing down and we will get Hillary.

Very sad

Point is not obvious? They are financially not astute.

>> The Cruz fans

First of all, this isn’t a sport or a reality show and I’m not a “fan”. I am making a careful choice of whom to support for the very serious job of POTUS.

>> refuse to admit any flaw or imperfection in their candidate.

Ted Cruz is not perfect by any means. Having said that, “liar” is a meme hung on him by those who hate and fear him. I do not agree with that meme, and although you think in your own mind you have made the case, you have not. It’s just that simple.

Fair enough and you have been very polite throughout. We will have to disagree then. Perhaps I am wrong about him, and am blind to the truth. But as Paul Tillich wrote 70 years ago, one must have the courage of one’s convictions and I am afraid Cruz does not look good to folks outside of the 30~35% who support him in this primary season.

I do not hate either Trump or Cruz, I see both men as having large defects, for the most part not overlapping with the exception of ego. I do not fear Cruz or Trump, I thought they would balance each other defects.

Should Cruz get the nomination alone I and the wife would vote for him, but without any significant hope of his victory. Folks here in the Northeast see him very differently then folks in other sections of the nation.

As do we all.

We will vote for Trump should he be the nominee. It’s not a difficult choice, really.

>> Fair enough and you have been very polite throughout.

So have you! I have enjoyed our discussion. Good night and may GOD bless you richly.

If Cruz had charisma and was likable, he had a chance.

You are delusional. Cruz overcame the power of the establishment to beat out the establishment darling for senator in Texas. That is more than a chance.

And characterizing his supports as poor "white trash" is something that I'd more expect to hear on Marxist websites.

Busy little hands.

Why did you alter R 2’s words to change the meaning? You copied, pasted, & deliberately changed R 2’s words to imply another meaning and then posted those to me. Unless you are his mommy and it’s your job to wipe his butt, why are you cleaning up for his stupid threats?

His original post to me -—> Unless you’re a fool wanting the zot - you keep your mouth shut and your head down as much as possible.

Your post lying to me ——>“Unless you’re a fool wanting the zot – one has to keep one’s mouth shut and one’s head down as much as possible.”

Words have meaning and that’s why you changed his words. It’s understood that there is no need to reply to this post.

Uh, perhaps you need to read the post right after mine where I stated: “Worded differently to convey the same meaning, that is.” Perhaps you slept through English class when they were talking about things such as indicative, imperative, and subjunctive moods. Most everyone else understand that Responsibility2nd’s statement wasn’t an imperative (i.e., not a command and therefore not a threat). I was rewording it for you to try to help you understand that. Obviously, you did not. As you said, no need to reply.

So, if someone doesn’t have a net worth of half a million, they are not financially astute? Do you realize what the average individual net worth is in America? More importantly, do you not realize that there are things in life more important than money? There are a lot of people with net worth’s of less than a half million that are rich in many ways.

Have a rich day.

Cruz has ZERO accomplishments in 3 years in US Senate.
Because very few people like him.

Learn the reality. Otherwise it is you who is delusional.
