67 percent of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Donald Trump [Cruz has 53% unfavorability]

Strong headwinds of unpopularity continue to hobble leading Republicans Donald Trump and Ted Cruz with the public at-large, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

By contrast, most Republicans see Trump and Cruz in a favorable light - 56 and 58 percent, respectively - while John Kasich is less popular among fellow partisans (47 percent) despite receiving the best ratings among the broader electorate.

The poll finds Trump suffering little damage from recent controversies over punishments for women who have abortions and the arrest of his campaign manager, though the real-estate mogul’s ratings are still in the doldrums.

Thirty-one percent of Americans have a favorable view of Trump while 67 percent are unfavorable -- nearly identical to an early March Post-ABC poll which found he would be the most disliked major-party nominee since at least 1984. Over half the public (53 percent) continues to see Trump in a “strongly unfavorable” light, ticking down from 56 percent last month.

Cruz fares better with 36 percent favorable and 53 percent unfavorable among the public at-large; his strongly unfavorable mark is 20 percentage-points below Trump’s level (33 percent for Cruz vs. 53 percent for Trump).

Trump will work on this—he needs a Charm offesive—to show what a nice—giving guy he is. People will not vote for him because he’s popular—they will vote for him as the lesser of two evils. BUT he needs to show Leadership as he did on his TV show. Megyn Kelly might be the first step in his new Charm Offesive to women. He can do it!

Anyone NOT voting for Trump in the present situation does NOT put AMERICA FIRST. That is FACT!

No. That is your opinion

The charm offensive you call for, could easily be furthered by a series of half hour TV fireside type chats, in which Donald explains the fuller context of some of the major issues that he addresses--that is the heart-strings, appealing contexts, of saving all that is good in American society for the posterity of our people.

It is what the last few Republican candidates, "W," McCain & Romney should have done, but didn't.

And if you examine Trump’s fairly recent past you will find he’s a RINO at best! FACT!

If that was truly the case, they’d be quiet about it and gloat until Election Day.

I like that Idea—a fireside chat—from Trump Tower. He could use each one to anounce something—like his VP Selection, Supream Court nomination, people in his cabinate, his first 100 days, Trumpcare, foreign relations, (Put the Churchill Bust Back!) and Build up of Military—new ships for the Navy? Women apointments, and new ways to bring back jobs (Reagan saved Harley-Davison with a tariff on Cheap Japanese motorcycles). By doing this he would dominate the news cycle each week.

What do your ancestors have to do with your vote today?

If you put America FIRST, you will NOT vote for a Globalist!
Cruz is a globalist. His votes prove it!

Trumpers that rally attendance doesn’t necessarily translate into votes
...................................................
So far they have! Trump is leading in millions of votes. Trump is leading in states won. Trump is leading in delegates and will increase that lead next week. Seems the rallys DO translate into votes. Whatchagot that says otherwise? A few far left relatives? That all ya got?

You obviously don’t know the difference between a primary election and a general election. It seems a lot of Trumpers fail basic civics. I blame public education for that

Every poll shows high negatives and him losing to Hillary in the general It’s the general election were a president get elected. You may not know that but it does
Whatchagot that shows otherwise besides rallys? Whatchagot that shows him popular with the general public and him trouncing Hillary? Whatchagot outside the “everyone in America loves Trump” bubble?

Give Ted time; he’ll catch up.

He is perhaps 5 to 8 percent as well-known as Trump. So what is the point of this "study"?

that is B.S. My ancestors and only God knows the number of soldiers” who more than self their country loved” I could never not put my country first above all else. What you are reading into Cruz’s votes I have no idea. But with Trumps giving $$ to liberals and globalists for their campaigns is supporting their causes and not putting his country first.

Trump gave as much to Republicans as to Dems. He not only worked for Reagan’s election but donated to him as well. You are very poorly informed if you consider TPA anything but enabling TPP and what about the Corker bill? What about Audit the Fed. which he skipped out on? Obviously, you know little about America’ best interests if yu continue to support a Globalists.
As for your ancestors, mine fought beside Dan Morgan. Another was Teddy Roosevelt’s personal aide. You’re not the only one who can claim America’s heritage. What y
YOU do today is what will have an effect on whether America survives, not what your ancestors did. Grow up!
