<<< Ok, so when should a candidate drop out? When they are mathematically eliminated >>>

The problem is too many of the other 14 candidates stayed in WAY too long - siphoning enough votes so that neither Trump or Cruz have a clear mathematical shot at 1237.

Also, beware of Jeb! come convention time. There will be more battles with the GOPe before our nominee is official. United We Stand.

I guess you missed it. Rubio said he wasn’t endorsing Cruz, so his delegates don’t belong to Cruz.

...they hosted primary elections during Lincoln...

Tell us how they turned out. Did Lincoln win the Republican primary in 1860?

Cruz should team up with Trump to ensure this can never happen.

ROFL!!!!

Yeah ... I thought that was a great idea.

In December.

Then the feces-flinging got started. Trump himself has a lot of feces-flinging to apologize for if that's going to happen.

It is not a tie

Cruz is not entitled to Rubio’s delegates just like Trump is not entitled to Cruz’s delegates

Cruz needs to drop out for good of the country

They do on the second ballot. there is a nuance.

Also Rudy ( we love Rudy here , right ;) ) will vote for Trump but not endorse.

Rudy does not want to stump for Trump.

The obvious wave of second ballot delegates is what puts fuel in Cruz’s tank— along with the forced VP play.

I agree 100%, and not just because you are our host.

Who will benefit from #NeverTrump and #NeverCruz? Hillary, Bernie, Jeb, Rubio, Kasich, and others who consistently support Amnesty, who consistently support Obamacare, and who consistently support restrictions on our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms.

Decent Americans are better off with a real truce, and not just a “I’ll stop when every person who even pretends to support the other side stops” gesture toward a truce that will never happen.

The nonsense is not helping us to elect the best possible conservative in November. I want 99% or more of Cruz supporters to vote Trump, when he is nominated, even if they hold their noses. In the event that Cruz wins the nomination, I want 99% or more of Trump supporters to vote Cruz, even if they hold their noses. Offending the other side does not encourage them to vote Trump (or Cruz) in November.

I cannot help wondering how many of those who stir up the Trump-Cruz wars are actually paid trolls taking Jeb/Hillary/Soros money to cause trouble - not all of them but probably enough to set the toxic tone.

I stand by my recurring statement:

Cruz and Trump are both imperfect but they agree far more than 80% of the time (see my tagline from Ronald Reagan). They should be friends and allies, and we should treat both of them as such.

The delegates are not RINOs by being a delegate.
They are people.
In many instances, chosen by the candidate’s campaign.

And, the delegates control the convention.
The delegates control the rules committee.
The delegates will pick the nominee.

It has always worked this way, it works quite well usually.
The RINO’s power comes from fooling the electorate and getting THEIR delegates in there with their candidate.

That is not the case here.

We are looking at Cruz/Trump’s delegates controlling the game. We’ve already won the battle. Now its time to pick our leader.

Whom is best equiped to lead us to victory in November. Whom stands behind what we believe in, and has a record to stand on supporting those very principles. Someone we can trust will nominate rock solid folks to the US Supreme Court. Someone whom we can trust will defend the life of the unborn. Someone whom we can trust will stand FIRM behind the US Constitution, using it as the guiding principle and restoring its authority to the executive branch.

We need someone whom we know will not waver in the coming battle. Someone whom has known who they are for most of their adult lives.

The GOPe has lost. Its over for them. They are in “latch on” mode at this point. There is literally not a thing they can do given the delegate counts at this point.

Cruz or Trump will be the nominee. End of story. Lets get on to the convention and select the best leader for the party going forward and be done with this fighting and bickering.

I disagree. Trump is polling very well in the Northeast States. He took Massachusetts back in March with 49.3% of the vote. Most the remaining states are winner take most with thresholds which make them pseudo winner take all. Trump will be in great position by the end of April.

Its a tie. If it weren’t we would not be putting so much energy it in .

PA CA NE MT and other states like NY have delegates that Cruz can get delegates or Block Trump.

Yeah, I don’t see how a combo ticket could work at this point.

Too deep of wounds... Too personal of attacks.

We need to just pick the better of the two men going forward, and this is almost certainly going to happen on the convention floor.

Here is a moral question for you. First the facts.

TRUMP has fine numbers of “Earned Delegates” from all of his sweeping victories in state primaries. He earned them and he deserves them. And, the popular vote has backed that up. The vote of the people continue to make TRUMP their nominee. (Well, clearly, not in Colorado...)

The Rules are the rules. The “threshold” is the threshold, right?

The problem is who the Hell are the delegates? The TRUMP
“Earned delegates” are Cruz supporters.

Cruz has employed a litmus test for TRUMP’s “earned” delegates. It goes like this:

” Do you promise to vote for Cruz in all ballots subsequent to the First Ballot? “

The TRUMP supporter must lie convincingly and agree, in order to hope to be selected as a TRUMP delegate at the state convention. The lying, however, must start at the county level, in time for the word to be passed to the district and state level chairs.

By state convention time, the take away is physics. TRUMP’s delegates going to the National Convention are simply not TRUMP delegates, but are frauds.

So these fine numbers of TRUMP delegates he has collected to date are Cruz supporters set in place to abandon TRUMP, right on time, at the National Convention.

When that gets addressed then we can thrill to the TRUMP numbers, again. Right now, the continuum is effectively the “Brutus” plan and it is continuing unaddressed entirely, unchecked, unabated, and always ends with saying, “Amen”.

I totally get it but Trump is NOT conservative. He said he’d keep planned parenthood, he’d promote LGBT issues (unbelievable), he’s for touchback amnesty (WTF), he likes TARP, he’s barely doing anything to the tax code and never once said get rid of the IRS, he thinks our abortion laws and gay laws are laws of the land...

these are just a few of his positions that I can remember. Plus all the donations to libtards. What about his donation to Kamala Harris (along with his daughter) who is the main supporter of sanctuary cities!?

Cruz has a ton of fight in him. I do not see the gope being successful in overriding Trump or Cruz in the convention. They have to get rid of rule 40 and I don’t see that happening either.

Bottom line, let the top 2 fight it out all the way to the end...what’s the purpose of saying one has to drop out now?

Trump does NOT need 1237 delegates. 1237 is a phony fabricated number. 1000 = win. 900 = win.

When GOPE appoints a ‘winner’, he will have maybe 4% popular vote, equivalent to 10 real delegates.

10 appointed delegates = 1237 fraud delegates.

Delegate is NOT in the US Constitution
because Delegate = Fraud!

I’d prefer whomever is the best leader for the country going forward.

Seward felt the same way at 75% of the required delegates.

That would be what is called politics.

Trump can do the VERY same thing... He could play the long game.

Unfortunately for him, his campaign is not organized enough to do that.
