This is Different! (Cruz Campaign Announces It Is Short On Funding!)
PAID FOR BY CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT ^ | 13 Apr 16 | PAID FOR BY CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT

Posted on 04/13/2016 11:54:46 AM PDT by xzins

____

This morning I woke up to an email from my campaign finance director. The email wasn't good news.

I've gotten emails like this before, but let me tell you: this time is different. Our mid-month fundraising report is due in just two days, and we're more than $300,000 short of funding our campaign.

As you know, having the resources necessary to compete is a big factor in running a campaign for president. We've already seen so many candidates who fell short leave this race.

Our campaign is literally running out of money, and to keep campaigning -- taking on Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and the Washington Cartel -- I need your help.

....Snip....

For liberty,

Ted Cruz

It doesn't work quite like that. The vast majority of Kasich's delegates are REQUIRED by their states to vote for him on the first roll call regardless of if he drops out / endorses Trump / dies / comes out as a communist / etc.... After the first roll call, many are legally allowed to vote for whoever they want. It depends on how they were chosen as to who they will eventually support.

The 66 from Ohio were hand picked by Kasich himself. They are loyalists and will probably do whatever he tells them to do. The other ~160 are picked by state parties, local voters, caucuses, etc.... They may not be as inclined to follow lock-step with what Kasich asks them to do.

Cruz short of money?

Well, gee, all he had to do was ask. Or have Heidi ask. A million times. Or more.

Not necessarily ‘going broke’, just short of their monthly / quarterly goal at this point in time. I’m sure they have plenty of cash on hand, but always needing more..................

It doesn't work quite like that.

Take it up with the RNC. It's their story, not mine.

Yes, everyone was stunned by the YUGE Cruz victory! BIG MO was on his side. He finally has put Trump down and has the momentum going forward to win NY by coming in THIRD.

Did you look at how each state awards delegates? Most of them are proportional or winner take all by district. He will lose NY but he will still win a bunch of delegates. They will probably tie in the popular vote in CA but that will again be a ton of delegates to Cruz. His ground game will turn an overall state tie into a net more delegates by playing the district game.

>Maybe he can borrow some from Kasich. He doesn’t seem to need any money to get to the convention except for a few hundred grand from Soros!

The Soros donation turned out to be a smear from camp Cruz. Kasich isn’t being funded by him.

The Trump campaign will probably be sending out a similar letter in a few days. But WAIT, I forgot, Trump is funding his own campaign. He’s not taking lobbyists money or Washington Cartel money like Cruz is.

“Did you look at how each state awards delegates?”

Yes, and you’re dreaming again. The only way you can get him to 880 is if you arbitrarily give him every single delegate in IN, NE, MT, SD and CA.

“He will lose NY but he will still win a bunch of delegates.”

What are you basing “a bunch” on .. if he doesn’t crack 20% he gets nothing. and ...

“in CA but that will again be a ton of delegates”

You use terms like “a bunch” and “a ton” ... can you show us what these terms mean in real numbers???

Cruz’s campaign is more voracious than any we’ve ever encountered.

Emails by the dozen every couple of days. Phone calls at least 4 times a day (I try not to answer them though, if it comes from TX, don’t answer.)

We gave to his campaign and a few weeks ago were thinking we might contribute more, but the call I received turned us off and we won’t donate again.

The guy who called last week thanked us for giving in the past, then mentioned the “crisis” du jour of their campaign finances, and asked if we might give double of what we gave last time (and we’re not talking small change donation.)

I told him we were thinking of giving again, but I’d need to discuss it with my husband, and that’s when things got interesting. He started berating me because I said I needed to talk it over with DH. “Don’t you have the ability to okay funds from your account” the guy said in a mocking way. I wanted to see how long he kept it up, and it was for a good minute or so...to each of his quips I’d say “I will not contribute without consulting my husband.”

It was unbelievable.

“The Trump campaign will probably be sending out a similar letter in a few days.”

I have been on the Trump email list from the start and have NEVER received an email asking for money. The only emails I have gotten is to announce results or events. Trump has been true to his word.
