On Saturday, HBO will air it's much promoted new film Confirmation, a dramatic and biased account of Justice Clarence Thomas' 1991 Supreme Court confirmation hearings. As many recall, law professor Anita Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment in an effort to derail the hearings and made a career out of making a number of dubious claims. HBO of course, is happy to promote them. HBO and the producers claim the film is an accurate and well researched portrayal of history. Many who were there strongly disagree:
A group of former politicians and their aides are bracing themselves for a new HBO movie that dramatizes the 1991 confirmation hearing of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and claims of sexual harassment made by Anita Hill, with some suggesting the possibility of legal action.
The film, titled “Confirmation”, is set to debut in April, but former Sens. Al Simpson and Jack Danforth, as well as at least one former lawyer on Thomas' team, now are going public with their dismay at early versions of the film script they were given for their input, saying it is a biased portrayal.
"Obviously, they were going to go forward with [the film], and obviously there are going to be some repercussions because they’ve opened a hornet's nest,” said Simpson, who called the script he saw a "seriously distorted" version of the actual confirmation hearings.
Simpson and Danforth both brought up the possibility of legal action if the script they saw is the same one used in the movie when it airs in April, though Simpson acknowledged that as a public figure, it would be a hard case to win. And Mark Paoletta, the former White House lawyer who worked on Thomas’ confirmation, wrote a letter to HBO threatening legal action if certain parts of the script he had seen remained in the film.
HBO is often no friend to conservatives or the truth, and this time is no different. Confirmation's leading actress and executive producer, liberal Hollywood It Girl Kerry Washington, is a long-time Democrat activist who spoke at the 2012 DNC convention. She of course plays Hill and is portrayed in the film as a victim and lionized for her bravery.
When you make your way further down the Confirmation production list you'll find writer and producer Susannah Grant, producer Michael London and actor Wendall Pierce, who plays Justice Thomas. Grant, London and Pierce are all big time donors to the Democrat Party and Wendell Pierce, like Washington, was an active participant and community organizer for the 2012 DNC convention. Pierce was also a bundler for President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign.
But it wouldn't be a liberal Hollywood hit job without hypocrisy and double standards. While Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment, she later excused behavior of President Bill Clinton, which of course was also excused by current Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Confirmation is a liberal hit job produced by DNC operatives, not an accurate portrayal of history. The film will smear Justice Clarence Thomas all over again and as he said himself more than two decades ago, will be a rehashing of a "high tech lynching."

HBO is evil. Whomever they attack is good. Whomever they support is evil. Bank on it.

Bush countered with a Conservative Libertarian....Clarence Thomas.....which set Teddy Kennedy and Former Communist Party Lawyer Ohio Senator Howard Metzenbaum back on their heels.
The strategy to knock off African American Thomas had to be something crossing racial lines....serial rapist Teddy Kennedy chose “sexual harassment” a charge that was unsupported by everyone EXCEPT Anita Hill. Thomas himself called Kennedy’s bluff and was subsequently confirmed as the new Supreme Court Justice.
Justice Clarence Thomas, one of the Courts most conservative members has been hated and the subject of ridicule by the left ever since.
If Thomas had been pro-abortion, we would never have even heard of Anita Hill. She followed him to other jobs before he was nominated. She couldn’t have been TOO upset by his alleged “harassment”.
It took HBO 25 YEARS to finally hobble together some kind of story about Anita Hill’s trials and tribulations (COUGH COUGH)? She was really nothing more than a grown up Tawana Brawley. Why the interest in this now? Better late than never, I suppose.
Hello! This is HOLLYWOOD, where sexual favors in return for work, aka the casting couch, are the coin of the realm. In Hollywood, crude sexual propositions in the workplace are universally accepted behaviors.
I watched this last night, surprise surprise, it was biased. Not incredibly so at first, but the bias became more apparent the longer it went on, one crowing moment was Ted Kennedy having a “good guy” moment, Treat Williams played Kennedy way too sedate. Biden was portrayed as overly concerned with his image but still noble and being bullied by the evil GOP minority.
A few GOP Senators (Danforth, ect) have blasted it’s accuracy. Someone said it’s as accurate a portrait of history as “Game of Thrones”. There were a lot of little things that bothered me. Like at the end when they were celebrating in the White House they lingered on the face of Deputy Press Secretary Judy Smith (a Black lady) as if to imply maybe she wasn’t really happy. I don’t know much about Smith, wikipedia says that show “Scandal” (Starring Kerry Washington, who played Hill in this despite being too attractive for the role) was inspired by her consultant work.
And there was a scene were Senator Danforth, Thomas, and Mrs. Thomas, went into a bathroom to pray together privately (with a tape recorder of “onward Christian soldiers” playing) before he testified (apparently Danforth wrote about this in a book he wrote), and that was portrayed as something weird. Mrs. Thomas they gave very little to do, they pretty much just made her a stepford smiler. Thomas himself they had starting into space angrily a lot.

Back in the days of the House Un-American Activities Committee in the late 1940s and 1950s, the charge was that Communist and left wing sympathizers were trying to change the motion picture industry, mainstream magazines and newspapers into organs that portrayed the policies and morals of the Moscow Party Line as the norm in America.
They failed back then and the left cried an ocean of tears about the so-called Black List. Yet it did the job then--
However, as of today, if the Democrats had a House Un-American Activities Committee, it would be we conservatives called on the carpet as the 'failed' revolution of 1945-1960 had already come about. The news media, film, television and magazines are, for the vast majority, walking in lockstep with President Obama, the Democrat Party and all left-wing/communist supporters.
They demand we be tolerant to their views yet when we try to express our views, we are universally deemed insensitive boobs making war on women, die in the wool racists, hate-speechers or worse. If we believe in the Bible, then what is there is considered hate speech when we try to follow its teachings. If one on the left has a problem with any conservative and/or non-Muslim view or policy, it must be taken down or not allowed to be spoken. Yet is we complaining about that they are saying and doing, we are-- Yeah, you know it-- We are-- Intolerant.
