Something doesn’t ring right with this. Most custodial jobs are paid for by the fed government. The jobs works program so whatever it’s called which hires students. Maybe, they’ve decided to fill more custodial jobs with students using federal monies. Watch for the admin to get pay raises.
FYI, if your college student gets one of these jobs and they need more pay or hours, call up the financial aid office. Usually it’s not a problem. Surprisingly, it’s not set in stone.

I have never heard of students on the Federal Work-Study program doing custodial jobs. These students usually work in the library or the student rec center, or do low-level office work in an academic department. The custodians are usually full-time employees drawn from the local community. At the local state university, custodians are usually black or Hispanic, but the demographics vary with the surrounding population. The irony is that, at Mizzou, apparently “black’s jobs don’t matter.”
