What is it about the Duluth-Two Harbors expressway?

In February it was a Nissan Sentra doing 137 mph. And on Friday night a jet-black 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 1SS was clocked at 171 mph on that stretch of Minnesota Highway 61.

Hermantown Police Department Deputy Chief Shawn Padden was on loan as part of a Minnesota State Patrol "Toward Zero Deaths" DWI saturation effort Friday night when the radar in his Dodge Charger squad car started screaming

Let the ponies run free............ And how fast did the gendarmes go trying to catch up so the Camaro could see the flashing blue lights?

The idea of a Datsun at that speed is scary, dunno which is more dangerous, the car or the driver. Have learned to avoid Datsun drivers.

He said I never engaged in this kind of thing before
But yes I think it can be very easily done
We’ll just put some bleachers out in the sun
And have it on Highway 61

Hmmm.

“A GM publicity stunt” does make some sense, except maybe for having female, or anyone, in the passenger seat.

Why anyone would buy a gm pos is beyond me. Hello, the Japs make much better cars.

I remember when the Alabama State Troopers used AMC javelins.

They would supposedly do over 160 but that still is not fast enough to have caught that camaro.

Sentra SE-R does top out at over 135 MPH, according to the internet (so it must be true).

The governor on my car cuts off the engine at 130. Scary the first time it happened.

With or without a fart pipe? Needs lots of window stickers as well.

At one time the Florida Highway Patrol used T-Birds equipped with high performance 460 V-8s.

They were literally scary fast according to what I have heard.

The top of the line Sentra weighs 3000 pounds and has 200 HP. No way it is going 137 MPH. No way.

People who drive that fast off the track, should be horsewhipped. Most of these lumberheads who do this could never control their vehicle in a sudden unexpected event. One lash for every 10mph over 90mph.
