Paul Ryan is giving a big speech to officially rule out a late bid to nominate him for presidency

House Speaker Paul Ryan on Tuesday plans to officially rule out a potential late bid for the presidency.

"He's going to rule himself out and put this to rest once and for all," a Ryan aide told Business Insider.

Ryan's speech is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. ET in the lobby of the Republican National Committee office in Washington, DC.

Speculation surrounding Ryan's potential late-entry as a last-minute choice at the Republican convention in July has reached a fever pitch over the past month, as the likelihood of a contested convention has increased.

Last week, Politico's Mike Allen reported in his newsletter that "top Republicans are becoming increasingly vocal" of the possibility that Ryan winds up with the GOP nomination.

"One of the nation's best-wired Republicans," as cited by Allen, gave Ryan a better-than-50% chance of leaving the July convention as the party's nominee.

The Republican nominee could be named at the convention if none of the three remaining candidates enter it with 1,237 delegates. Frontrunner Donald Trump needs to secure a bit more than 60% of the remaining delegates to go into the convention with the 1,237 delegates.

Ryan, who was in Israel as a part of a congressional delegation visit last week, told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that he remained uninterested in the job.

"I think you need to run for president if you're going to be president, and I'm not running for president," Ryan said. "So period, end of story."

You cannot believe a word these reprobates say. NONE.

For the GOPe to put up Ryan would cost them more votes and support than they could imagine. It would be their end and they know it.

Jeb Bush it is then!

Seriously, Ryan probably didn’t want to go down in the history books as “the man who destroyed the Republican Party.”

He’s leaving that honour to Ted Cruz.

He’s already ruled it out repeatedly. I think he knows that the only way anyone other than Trump Cruz or Kasich gets it is if they all drop dead before the convention. He may be positioning himself for 2020 though. I think a lot of folks may be doing that. And the sad implication of that is that they apparently think the winner in November will be Hillary inasmuch as it suggests they don’t expect a GOP incumbent in 2020.

If so I will NEVER vote for him. Ryan is even creepier looking than Ted Cruz John Kasich and is just another self-righteous CINO.

Hmm...well, if Ryan's out, I suppose there's only one course of action that makes sense. Lots of people want Trump, lots of people want Cruz, lots of people want Kasich. Why not a compromise candidate that nobody wants?

I'm dusting off my Yeb! buttons.

I agree. It’ll be scripted....almost like some WWE-wrestling match.

Cruz and Trump supporters will be sitting there in shock at home...but I think fifty percent of their state delegate supporters are in on the script and will easily fall into place with the remaining delegates.

My prediction is that forty-percent of the base for GOP voting (Trump/Cruz supporters) will walk away. It’s possible as part of the script that Cruz hugs pick and all charged up happy...because he’s going to be Attorney General under Ryan, and maybe that will settle the Cruz supporters a bit.

As for the Trump voters at home (roughly one-third of GOP base)....they will likely vote a straight Democratic ticket in the fall, and be the source of the Hillary or Bernie win. They won’t come back for a decade or more, and I think it’s the end of the GOP as a serious party...it’ll have to split off into two groups.

Rule him right out of Congress, too.

Ditch the GOPe's princeling, Paul Ryan.

There is an alternative.

Ryan wants to be seen as the White Knight who saves the gope by slaying the evil Trumpasaurus that has been stomping thru their playground.

You can bet that he has his papers already to go at a moments notice.

He said he didn’t want to be Speaker of the House, guess what, he lied then, and he’s lying now.

October 8, 2015: Paul Ryan rules himself out once again for House speaker

Maybe in this speech he'll be extra, extra Sherman-esque.

Giving the nomination to Ryan would have finally united the Trump and Cruz supporters.

But not in a good way.

Challenger to Paul Ryan

http://www.paulnehlen.com/

“So, when Paul Ryan began pushing a massive, job-killing international “trade” deal known as the Trade Promotion Authority and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPA/TPP), it was the final straw for me. I know what TPA/TPP will do to this district. It sells out American workers. It sells out American business and industry. It will kill the economy in this district, never mind the rest of the nation.

Why would Paul Ryan do such a thing?

I asked myself that question again and again, trying to understand. I couldn’t believe he would be so reckless. I couldn’t believe he would sell out his own district in that way.

And then I started looking at public records…and it all began to make sense.

Approximately 83 percent of Paul Ryan’s campaign funding comes from outside of Wisconsin’s 1st District. And of that 83 percent, 65 percent of his funding comes straight from Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia.

Paul Ryan isn’t representing our district. He’s representing the big businesses and big banks that pour money into his campaign coffers. It’s their agendas he’s carrying forward with his votes in Congress…not ours”
