So, the sympathy for victims of child abuse has it's limits, with some in the LGBT community.

Who said anything about abolishing any movies with rape or child murder in it? Macbeth? what is he babbling about.

I know most here probably hated it, but I liked Streetcar Named Desire a lot. How does that equal approving of rape?

And in case anyone is unaware, Stephen Fry is a Faggot. He's just another British Homosexual that feels like flaming from time to time.

Britain is much more of a nanny state than we are (at least so far). Freedom of Speech as we understand it really doesn’t exist in the UK.

I would think we’d be supportive then because he’s basically telling snowflakes to ‘grow the f#$% up’.
These dumb a$$ trigger words are pathetic.

The Left is struggling to contain the PC monster it created.

I really don’t consider victims of child abuse ‘snowflakes’. I consider PC whiners, snowflakes. Child abuse/pedophilia/etc, has/have lifelong consequences.

I think he’s talking about instances where students, who were victims of abuse, have asked to have certain literary works, which contained references to rape, banned from the classroom because it would traumatize them.

Universities are finding it difficult to teach literature because so many students claim they have been so traumatized by experiences of rape, abuse, sexism, racism, homophobia, etc., that the very mention of these things makes it impossible for them to function.

That’s different. And absurd.

What about anyone who’s lost someone to murder? There goes half the television and movie programs.

Actually, the list would never end and nothing could be shown or read.

My pop died when I was young. There were movies I saw that dealt with that issue that HELPED me because I knew I wasn’t alone.

They hurt somewhat, but life ain’t all sunshine and roses. It’s just life. geez.

So, the sympathy for victims of child abuse has it's limits, with some in the LGBT community.

This "trigger" nonsense is just another pretext for censoring classical western literature and banning ideas.

If a student claims they can't read certain plays because their mind is damaged they've admitted they can't be educated and should be expelled.

That would end this "trigger warning" idiocy.

You may have a point. I just get a little annoyed anytime Stephen Fry's name comes up because he makes such a point to make certain everyone knows he's queer.

A wide variety of terrible things happen to millions of people. If every victim of anything can insist that the cause of his personal suffering can’t even be mentioned in many environments, then society pretty much shuts down.

I don’t think it diminishes the serious crime of child molestation or rape to observe that most victims of these crimes go on through life without being paralyzed by every mention of similar events.

Additionally, when it comes to declaring topics off-limits, there are people who either profess the popular victim status (such as the “black activists” who are actually white), or who claim that their empathy with actual victims of (deep-sympathy event) is so strong that they, too, are traumatized by “Titus Andronicus” or “The Iliad.”

Yep, it certainly does. It can be absolutely crippling. I got out of the article that you can’t wallow in self-pity regardless of the circumstance. Yes it is horrible, but you have to get past the past, otherwise your life is ruined, your chance for happiness is nil.

Maybe he means people should grow up & deal with it because when the left finally gets their way, pedophilia will be the new norm.

I believe that many molestation victims do become gay, because it’s a way to cope, as if what happened to them wasn’t so bad, so they continue by having same-sex relations to minimize what happened in their minds.

“You’ll enjoy it after a while”, says Stephen Fry, stuffing the gag back in.
