John Kasich on Refusing Service to LGBT People: 'What the Hell Are We Doing in This Country?' By BEN GITTLESON Apr 12, 2016

After dodging a question earlier in the day on “conversion therapy,” Republican presidential candidate John Kasich asked Monday night “what the hell” was happening in the United States that a state would allow businesses to deny service to people who are gay or transgender, as a law Mississippi’s governor signed last week permits.

"I read about this thing they did in Mississippi, where apparently you can deny somebody service because they're gay?" Kasich said during a town hall televised on CNN, where appeared with his wife and twin 16-year-old daughters. "What the hell are we doing in this country? I mean, look, I may not appreciate a certain lifestyle or even approve of it, but I can -- it doesn't mean I've got to go write a law and try to figure out how to have another wedge issue.”

But in much of Ohio, the state where he serves as governor, businesses are legally permitted to refuse service to gay or transgender people. While some cities and counties in Ohio prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, no similar statewide protection exists there.

Maybe that is the angle that must be taken.

“You’re gay? I don’t care about that, I’m not taking your business because you’re an unbearable a$$.”

I don’t care about peoples’ personal religion or sexual preferences, so long as they keep it strictly personal and don’t impose them on others, directly or indirectly. Especially in a workplace or community. Otherwise, we may just need equal laws to actively protect heterosexuals.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Yeah right, equal rights for animal molesters is what we need next. I want a cake for my upcoming wedding to my beloved goat. It's only fair that baker be made to honor my wish or he is in violation of my equal protection under law. Slippery slope hell, we've jumped headlong off the cliff!

Scared that Kay Sick has been told he has a good chance to be the nominee on something like the seventh ballot. He’s awful.

What the hell are we doing in this country in allowing someone to have a 30 year career in our government who apparently doesn’t understand individual liberty?!

Clearly he is the designated nominee or Trump’s VP and he was positioning himself for the general as the open minded inclusive and diverse Republican.

Huh? Kasich would be logical partner with Linda, not The Donald. In case you haven't noticed, Trump likes girls.

In my observations they don’t because they often got a huge chip on their shoulder - not all but increasingly more of them. For the latter, it’s like a big ‘war trophy’, coming out and all. Reckon, one has to be seriously unhinged, or wanna make a point to the rest when so focussed on what should be one’s very private life.

I saw a presentation by some older woman in her mid 60s few months ago. In that presentation she had continually “Lesbian” as a side-note - you could see she was, no side-notes required. Had to laugh, because I couldn’t see the relevance to the presentation. In fact it detracted from her presentation. Just unbelievable.

One of those things you have to roll your eyes and say whatever...

Um- Keeping perverts and sick people away from our children and women? You got a problem with that Kasich? If so- you don’t deserve to be president

LBGT can get their own damn bakeries to make their DAMNED cakes!!! GAY people tend to be VERY CREATIVE they would make beautiful cakes!!!!!

I regret to tell you that you are wrong, friend. Because LBGTs would never start their own bakeries. They aren't creative on their own. They are too full of hate. LBGT is a thing of evil, and evil can never create on its own. All evil can do is corrupt. The LBGTers cannot reproduce so they must corrupt the children. They cannot be accepted by most people so they have to corrupt the things that decent people have built on their own. There is nothing that LBGT can "make" which good has already created.

The way I see it, if you refuse service to some LGBT or whatever it is, you can do that for the simple reason that you are heterosexual.

If a Muslim approaches a bus stop asking people if they’re Muslim and he attacks them with a butcher knife when they say no, it’s not because of their religion, it’s because of the attacker’s religion.

Nobody’s refusing service.

We are refusing to participate in the celebration of what our conscience tells us is a perversion.

See, we don’t care what you do, what you think, or what you believe.

Just don’t compel us by threat of force to celebrate it, participate in it, honor it, or pay for it.
