Eagle Forum Press Release

The Board of Eagle Forum, a 501(c)(4) corporation, held a Board meeting in accordance with and pursuant to the Eagle Forum By-Laws and Illinois State Law at 2 pm CDT on April 11, 2016.

Pursuant to the By-Laws, Eagle Forum First Vice President, Eunie Smith, presided over the meeting. Eagle Forum Founder, Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly, the Chairman of the Board, was present during the entire meeting, including expressing herself on all seven votes. In Schlafly’s opening statement she said she has spent her life building Eagle Forum as a unique organization of volunteers. She also said that paid staff cannot order volunteers around. Mrs. Smith said, “The purpose of the meeting was to ensure that Eagle Forum will continue long into the future as a viable force for all the causes we have addressed in the past, for God, family and country.”

The Board of Eagle Forum voted to remove Mr. Ed Martin as President of the corporation; effective immediately. Mrs. Eunie Smith is serving as President until a new President is elected pursuant to the Eagle Forum By-Laws. Mrs. Smith appointed Eagle Forum Board Vice Chairman, Anne Schlafly Cori, daughter of Phyllis Schlafly, as Executive Director of Eagle Forum. Anne Schlafly Cori has worked with our state organizations and worked alongside Phyllis for some time.

Anne Schlafly Cori said, “I am honored and excited to be working with our wonderful state volunteer leaders from across the country. We are continuing the incredible legacy of our Founder Phyllis Schlafly.”

Dr. Shirley Curry was directed to lead a Search Committee for a new president of Eagle Forum.

I’m mystified as to why ppl who support Cruz, don’t understand he’s not part of the Elite crowd, either.

Ppl who are for Trump, are prepared for the dirtiest of dirty tricks & shenanigans. It’s 24/7 already.

Are Cruzbots? I doubt they’ll know what hit them if the Egop turns on Cruz. And all their invocations about the rules, and having a good (fake) ground game, etc-—will be used against them.

She was treated shabbily by Ed Martin, not the board. He maneuvered his intentions in order to make EF a tool for himself. A real sweet talker. He took advantage of her and he is out because the women on the board did the right thing.

The board had the power to fire Ed Martin and they did so.

In over 30 years of working together before Ed showed up, the leaders got along well with each other. Do you understand how remarkable that is? Women working together are usually not harmonious, but these women are.

Ed Martin should be ashamed of himself.

From Post Dispatch newspaper, about the Gang of 6 trying to take over:

“It’s disloyal, and it’s terribly shocking, and I’m completely depressed about it,” she told the conservative website WND.com prior to an afternoon telephone meeting of the board of the Eagle Forum.

Phyllis interviewed today & commented:

“(T)he attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me,” Schlafly alleged in her statement. “They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and ... to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.”

Do you propose then that she’s wrong in saying this? That 4/6 dissenting Board Members who endorsed Cruz, have no personal agenda? Because they seem to think Schlafly is being influenced to wrongly support Trump.

One contentious board member, from January:

Cathie Adams of Texas, a Cruz supporter, told the Dallas Morning News last month that she has “no respect” for Trump, and she theorized that Schlafly’s endorsement of him was the result of “manipulation” from an unidentified source.

From the WND article you linked:

Schlafly said she objected to the meeting and at 2:11 p.m. was muted from the call.

She said the meeting “was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me.”

The six board members, she said “are attempting to seize access to Eagle Forum bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.”

Let's not forget that Phyliss understands something that a lot of these know-it-alls don't. It is about nationalism versus globalism this cycle. I fought alongside her in the 90s when she endorsed Pat Buchanan (coincidentally another nationalist - see her pattern?). She STILL knows what's really going on here at age 91, you better believe it!

6 Board members been drinking some Cruz Kool-Aid, yes indeed!

Aside from the John Birch Society, the Eagle forum was one of the first groups to start sounding the alarm about the UN and the threat of the NWO. Also, I think, about the threat posed by the secret groups like the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg.

I found this on Cruz’s website, from January:

HOUSTON, Texas – In a letter today, 20 Eagle Forum state leaders and activists endorsed Ted Cruz for President, naming Cruz as the leader America needs and the best of the candidates competing for the Republican nomination.
“I am honored to have the support of so many Eagles, at the grassroots and all across this nation,” Cruz said.

“Phyllis Schlafly has given me much good advice over the years, and I admire the courageous grassroots activists who are carrying on her great work.”

Then Phyllis endorsed Trump. ::: thud :::

I have no idea whose oxe is being gored in this case.

These women may think sincerely that Phyliss has lost her mind, endorsing TRUMP.

Someone like me is impressed that she still has the guts to know a great president when she sees him.

Did Ed miff the girls on the board, and maybe smarmy the founder, I have no way of knowing.

But given the lying and cheating and fraud going on among Cruz supporters trying to shut out and replace any and all TRUMP supporters from serving as even his *Earned* delegates to their respective state conventions, naturally I tend to side with Ed and Phyliss.

If Eagle Forum for God and family is going to start taking on that Cruz tactical strategy from the pit of Hell, they shall have lost face with many Christian women who happen to be for TRUMP. But that is just my opinion from what I see here on the ground, where it *is* happening.

The manipulation was from Ed Martin. And good riddance.

He was interviewed recently on the Alex Jones show. Phyllis is a great woman and would never have done an interview with such a nut job.

The problem with Ed was that he either did not understand or did not care that Eagle Forum is a collection of very committed conservative volunteers.

Not respecting that fact and his need to hand EF to Trump was part of his downfall.

The following are aligned against Schlafley: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.

Phyllis Schlafley Press Release - April 11, 2016

This is the same group that fired Ed Martin, and that endorsed Ted Cruz.

The Eagle Forum spat is purely political. It is a proxy for Cruz vs. Trump. Phyllis and Ed on one side, the board on the other.

A coup against Phyllis Schlafly for endorsing Trump.

Sad and disgusting, something dirty, something ugly against an icon of conservatism.

I have given Ted a lot of money but I plan to vote for Trump here in PA on April 26th.

No hatred of anyone here, no need to call anyone names.

Its sad to see this happening. Very sad.

I would think you are quite correct. Cathy Adams is on that EF Board and is a staple in the TEXAS Republican Party, and has been since the 1600’s. :)

>Cruz people took Eagle Forum away from Phyllis Schlafly because she endorsed Trump.

Everything Cruz touches is corrupted.
