"This Is Devastating News For Republicans": Poll Finds Denying Trump Nomination Would Crush GOP
ZeroHedge.com ^ | 04/09/2016 | Tyler Durden

In the latest shock for the GOP, which in recent weeks some have speculated is willing to scuttle the entire republican presidential campaign if it means not having Trump as the candidate, according to a just released Reuters poll, one third of Republican voters who support Donald Trump could turn their backs on their party in November's presidential election if he is denied the nomination in a contested convention.

Or, as The Hill puts it, "blocking Donald Trump from the Republican presidential nomination with a contested convention would spell disaster for the GOP" because instead Trump supporters would vote Democrat, vote third-party or sit out the election.

Just 66% of Trump supporters, which as of this moment are the most numerous of any presidential candidate, said they would support the GOP's nominee anyway.

Should it get to a contested convention, the GOP could be hurt even more in November because 58% of Trump supporters said they would stay with the party, while 16% would leave and 26% responded they didn't know, yet.

The results are bad news for Trump's rivals as well as party elites opposed to the real estate billionaire, suggesting that an alternative Republican nominee for the Nov. 8 presidential race would have a tougher road against the Democrats.

Florida for one. That’s an easy call. Michigan, NY, PA, NH, OH. Cruz will shrink the map. His whiny voice starts grating after a short while.

The GOPe knows it will lose if it dumps Trump. That’s actually their plan: to lose. Because at least that way they get to keep a little seat at the power table; if Trump wins the Presidency, the GOPe and its power brokers won’t get shite.

“.....But if Trump gets the most votes and loses? Then it means we have already lost the country, voting doesn’t matter. I’m 74, and I may actually miss voting for the first time in my lifetime....”

Me too. I’m 75, and never missed since Goldwater in 1964. I’m afraid we may have a lot of company.

On the other hand, I may turn into a kamikaze voter for what could be my last election. Sounds like a great way to go out.

CRUZ / GOPe supporters... YOU ARE ON A POLITICAL KAMIKAZE MISSION!

YOU WILL NOT ‘WIN’ ANYTHING EXCEPT A LOSING PLACE IN HISTORY!

I'll never vote for a GOPe candidate again... at any level... federal, State, city... Never. Again.

Not a penny nor another consenting vote for GOPe slime...

NEVER AGAIN!

“Do you believe that the republican senate deserves your vote???”

As stated I’m not a Republican, I left long ago. I’ll vote for the most Conservative candidate running as I have for the past several elections. If a Conservative is not running I wont vote for anyone for that particular office. I don’t see that sitting out the election accomplishes anything so I vote for Conservatives only...

He has no chance of winning in November.. none.

You can state an opinion as fact all you want, but that will never make it so.

In 1980, Reagan-haters and their propaganda-chugging ilk were saying the same thing about a former Democrat B-movie actor who made films that co-starred chimpanzees.

Reagan was 25-30 points down on incumbent Jimmy Carter for months on end.

Then an election was held, and the rest is history.

Only a fool would rely on enemy propaganda to inform his voting decision for an election which is seven months out, and for which the party conventions haven't even occurred. It's the clumsiest of Establishment spin.

So take your Establishment propaganda push polls somewhere that people are more susceptible to it, because such water-carrying foolishness is not respected in this community, no matter how often it's repeated, or by whom.

Try as I might, I can never get any of the "push poll propaganda parrots" to answer the following reasonable questions:

Q: If indeed Donald Trump will be so easy for Hillary to beat, then why are all of these anti-Trump Media outlets so intent on convincing GOP voters of that notion? You'd think they'd want to de-emphasize such info in order to get the easiest opponent possible for their preferred candidate, right?

Q: Alternately, do these Media outlets (known water-carriers for the Left/Establishment) somehow have the best interest of the GOP voters at heart? Are they trying to heroically save GOP voters from making a bad decision?

LOL!

Until the GOPe fanboys can logically answer the reasonable questions above, their hand-wringing hysteria will remain devoid of importance.

Trumpers insult Cruzers. Cruzers insult Trumpers. Both lose. Hillary wins. End of story.

Then you need to go back to the Hillary site you used to hang out in, because you belong there, since she or Bernie will be the next president.

You are a political naif, since you believe those stupid polls for the general.

Trump is the ONLY one who can beat Hillary. Those voting in these polls, especially this far out, know about as much as you do......NOTHING!

Unlike you, I know all about Hillary, her "PLAY BY HER OWN RULES IN A DEBATE" and what and how she overwhelms younger males pols, who were once lawyers and whom everyone has claimed are great debaters. Cruz, who is a worse debater than Rick Lazio, and who is INCAPABLE of thinking on his feet, will be left with a slack jaw, glazed eyes, and mumbling to himself, on stage. Don't believe me? Go find the video of the Hillary V. Rick debate!

Also, Trump knows not only how to push Hill's buttons, but exactly how to shut her up!

The elite is working ceaselessly and surreptitiously to deny Trump the nomination.

Should it succeed, Hillary is elected and America's dangerous retrograde phase is accelerated.

Should Trump be the nominee the Howard Beale oozes from the pores of the collective American.

Shrieking fairies of media to the contrary notwithstanding the witch will be ding dong dead.

Polls? Polls elected President Dukakis.

With Hillary America becomes Fort Benghazi.

With Donald Trump the Left has a collective cranial event dwarfing Trinity.

The piracy of islamofascists is rolled up.

America greens and the EPA ice sheet recedes.

How much do Mitt Romney and Karl Rove despise Americans and their Constitution?

Storm coming. Never Hillary is the word.

"CRUZ / GOPe supporters... YOU ARE ON A POLITICAL KAMIKAZE MISSION!

You got that right! But here is the even bigger problem with that scenario.

Not only will they lose, and lose BIG, but that will be spun by Hillary (or worse yet, Bernie) and the press as a MANDATE for their policies. It won't be that the GOPe screwed up. It'll be "an overwhelming tide of voter sentiment", and "a clear message the American people are sending Washington".

Watch it happen.......

If Trump is not the nominee supposedly a third of his republican voters would not vote or vote for a democrat or third party. That will also be the case for all of the Independents and Democrats who support Trump.

Personally, I believe almost ALL of the Cruz supporters will go elsewhere if it’s Trump. They hate Trump and they hate Trump supporters. And the Trump supporters feel the same way about Cruz supporters.

Trump goes Third Party but he can’t say that until he finds out if he gets his 1237.
