Bellei’s birth circumstances are an EXACT proxy for Ted Cruz, and he was stripped of his US citizenship for failing to comply with certain aspects of the citizenship statute that he was naturalized under. No natural born citizen could be shorn of his citizenship in that manner.
Ted Cruz is a US citizen by statute IF his mother filed a Counsular Report of Birth Abroad in accordance with the Immigration Act of 1952 in a timely manner, and that documentation has not been produced to date.
