Don’t know the answer....that’s why I asked....
I’ve read both sides of the argument and scholars, attorneys and judges fall on both sides of the issue....
Most I’ve read support Cruz’s position....
The guy is a constitutional attorney, he should know.....If he had any doubt he should have settled it before he ran....
Don’t like the guy...he’s a used car salesman in my opinion but unless there is a realistic court challenge I would accept that he is legal....
Haven’t seen that challenge yet....
Why don’t you do your own research instead of taking someone else’s word for it? Start with Vattel and the Law of Nations. You’ll find The Law of Nations referenced in Article I, Section 8 , quote “ To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;”
Notice that Law of Nations is capitalized. it refers to the work of E. Vattel, published in 1758 to which the Framers had complete knowledge. Some of the DENIERS say Vattel and/or Law of Nations is not cited in the Constitution. Article 1, Section 8 clearly shows they are wrong.
Then reference Benjamin Franklin., John Jay, and numerous others on the subject.
Then go to the Supreme court Decisions which hold that a Natural Born Citizen is one born of two citizen parents and born on the soil of the U.S.
A Natural Born Citizen is one who can not be of any other citizenship. Cruz is not eligible!
He does know, he just doesn't want you to know. Judges usually accept a criminals version of a story as well, right?
