The airframes are 50. The avionics and weapons are much more modern.

- Provide lots of flight time to our aircrews and ground personnel.
- Provide lots of calibration data to Russian anti-aircraft missile crews.

Yes they are old but are continually being upgraded and refitted with the latest avionics and other gee whiz accountremonts. Latest airframe improvements will permit usage of this plane until 2040.
