I hope you’re right, but people tend to put blinders on because if government schools didn’t exist, they would actually have to make decisions about where their kids go to school. Also, government schools are really subsidized daycare so both parents can work. Government gets more taxpayers and also gets control of the kiddies for more years of their lives and hours of their days.
Parents would have to be pretty stupid to permit this to go on in their kids’ schools, but I agree that it’s easier for them to hope that their kid doesn’t have to experience any of it rather than do anything about it.
