The left and other high and mighty folks have been telling conservatives for years we have to keep our mouths shut. I have a solution for this. One of these days...
LOL!
That makes complete sense and is what I would do.
Posting other tips on “how to” instead of what NOT to do is probably a good idea.
LOL!
People who lean on the glass cases like it is their only means of support.
Newsmen trying to trick a dealer into selling, like the one who came into my friend’s gun store, leaned on the glass, showed himself to be totally ignorant on guns, looked into the case at the Berettas, and asked ...”Do you have any Berettas?”
This was just after a mass killing and several gun stores had the same problem with ignorant news hounds.
The seller refused to do business with that person.
Two excellent points.
Never, NEVER cover anyone with a firearm. Remember, “Every firearm is always loaded ALL the time.” Even if you know it’s not loaded, NEVER point it at anyone. It’s rude, and someday it MAY be loaded. That’s how accidents happen. Bad accidents.
“You got any of them cop killer bullets?”
Probably an ATF or “gun sense” plant.
I used to work at a combination gun shop and surplus store. I was at the front counter one day and a car pulls up right in front of the door. Out pops this guy. With an AR-15. There is a magazine in the magazine well, and his finger was inside the trigger well. He advanced quickly and purposefully toward the door.
I had a 1911 in my hand (not aimed at him, I had it out of sight behind an obstruction). He comes through the door.
“Sir please pass me that weapon, butt first!” He looked a bit surprised by that, but immediately complied. That saved us both from having a really bad day.
I put the .45 away and cleared his AR, and explained what had just happened. He had been oblivious to it. I had something less than full confidence that he was attacking, I was about 80% there, though.
He wanted to buy a bayonet for his AR. He wasn’t just going to trust us to sell him the correct thing.
I hope you sold him a gun case too.
I wanted to slam one shut on his head a few times. To my recollection (this was a really long time ago) he just bought the bayonet.
I have visited a couple firearms stores that did not have a bore light. That pissed me off because I have got into the classic kick and was interested in the firearms they had. One, a trap door and the other a 303 enfield.
Why a dealers dont have a bore light is beyond me. I used a piece of paper, but it isnt as good as a light.
Good points to know, even though I don’t think I ever had the inclination to do any of these things. I think the only thing I remotely think I was guilty of was talk a LITTLE politics, but then the seller was rather quiet about it, so I figured that he just wanted to sell me something. So, I obliged, and will not do that again.
Is it rude to use a bore light if I’m looking at a weapon I’m considering? It makes me feel as though I’m being judged, but I’m really only trying to assess.
In your opinion is it better to bring my own or ask to use the shops? I’ve had looks for both.
I am disinvited from the local Cabela’s because of my strict interruption of that rule. Once in five minutes I physically directed muzzles away from three person’s bellies, pointed at them by three different sales people.
We had a jackass customer that loaded an unloaded gun then left it on the rack and vamoosed.
Next customer cycled the bolt and the cartridge popped out to everyone’s surprise.
Always consider the thing is loaded even when you know it is not, especially if it has not been in your hands the entire time.
The store I work at p/t has their own, but if you bring yours in and want to use it, that’s ok.
