As I recall, during Jimmy Carter’s campaign for President a reporter asked him if he would reveal the truth about UFO’s if elected. Future President Carter said he would.
Sure enough, some months after being sworn in as President, Jimmy Carter encountered this same reporter again.
The reporter reminded President Carter of his campaign promise.
IIRC, the answer provided was, “ I am sorry but that impacts on national security.”.
Anyone else remember this?
